SOURCE: sd locking

I had this problem also. To solve the problem I blew into the slot where the card goes and it then read the card. If dirt gets into the port it causes the sd card to lock. You may have to use a pressurized can of eletronic spray to clean the port.

It worked for me.

SOURCE: Moultrie DGS-200 - can pics be transferred from camera to sd card

Here is a link to the manual you need. You will need to have Adobe Reader installed on your computer to view it. If you don't have this do a google search for Adobe Reader. It is a free download.

Here is the link for the manual:

SOURCE: Camera doesn't recognize the sd card, bypasses it

1) This camera accepts SD cards up to 4 GB in capacity. Most 4 GB SD cards however, are "SDHC" types (check the label to determine which type you are using). If you are using a 4 GB "SDHC" card, it may be causing the problem, as it is not an "SD" card. Furthermore, any card greater than 4 GB is not compatible with the camera. Any SD card with a capacity less than 4 GB should work without issue.

2) Check the position of the lock or "protect" tab on the side of a compatible SD card to be sure it is in the unlock position. The camera will be unable to write to a locked or protected card.

check small switch on side of SD card; should be pushed toward contacts.Using the USB cable provided with cam, PC SHOULD RECOGNIZE DEVICE...might have to go thru windows explorer to find it, then use windows media player, or other, to open.
You are running 98 or later, right?

FAQ Proper Use of SD Cards with Moultrie Game Cameras

Question appears to be from some months ago, but Moultrie web site shown here suggests copying photos to a computer if possible directly without using the camera itself. Then it suggests reformatting the SD Card itself.

First of all, ONLY USE THE STANDARD SPEED SD CARD THAT MOULTRIE ADVISES.

Second, DO NOT TAKE THE CARD OUT & USE A READER WHILE LEAVING THE CAMERA MOUNTED (this will lock up the camera).

Third when using a brand new standard speed sd card, DO NOT FORMAT THE SD CARD IN ANYTHING OTHER THAN THE CAMERA.

One could clear the camera by reseating the battery (take the battery out & put it back in). The reset button (up inside) is not always necessary for this.

You probably got a different speed card to somehow work & the camera malfunctioned. Bear in mind the aforementioned advice.

My moultrie trail game camera d-40 will not store pictures on memory card. I have tried multiple memory cards. The card I have been using is not very old and has worked fine until now. Camera is showing...

Is the small switch on the side of the SD card pushed up toward contacts? Has the card been formatted by a PC(A NO-NO)?
Remove card;turn camera on..go to setup; press up arrow once to get "DELETE ALL IMAGES NO?";press select button to get flashing "NO"; press up or down button once to change flashing NO to flashing YES; press select once...should get "DONE";press select until back in "SETUP...Turn camera off insert SD card and try again...may need new SD card.

Camera worked great the first 4-5 times. After the last 2 set-ups when I pull the SD card it has no data? I usually get at least a photo leaving the camera after turning it on and another when I come...

O.K.,I assume you use two SD cards, take out the one in the camera, put a blank one in the camera, and bring the one that was in the camera home to review pics on your PC...unless you have a laptop you carry to the field with you.Either case, you viewed SD card and nothing...switch on side of card pushed forward toward contacts?Always deleted pics using camera's delete function..NEVER DELETE USING PC;NEVER FORMAT USING PC;...
Moultrie says to only use high quality SD's...recommend Sandisk or Lexar...I never had problems with any SD as long as I stay with name brands...I find I have accidently moved write protect switch; deleted before thought from PC...or PC says card needs formatting before use...DON'T..this is just PC not recognizing card's format..try different cards, they do get corrupted...make sure card insertion slot is free of debris...blow it out with contact cleaner/duster,ect....then the M80 has a software upgrade from www.moultriefeeders.com.

My i40 seems to be to be zapping the sd card, I let the camera take a few pictures and then when I put the sd card in my card reader it says card error.

Are you formatting cards on PC? Don't! Let camera format(automatic). Also delete pics using camera and not thru PC or card reader...problem may be card reader.

My camera is saying that the SD card is locked and we have an empty sd card

On the edge of the the SD card there is a small sliding switch that locks the card from erasures, formatting and loading. I may be in the locked position so slide it to the opposite direction then try it again.
