Replacing a part on my Canon PowerShot A610 Digital Camera

Hi, I need to replace the "top cover unit" of my Canon PowerShot A610 digital camera. I purchased the cover through Canon, but did not receive any instructions on how to take off the old top and replace it with the new one. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you. [email protected]

You will need a #0 screwdriver. 1. remove the screws on the sides two on one side three under the Digital/dc in / av out 2. removed the screws from inside the battery compartment three total screws Cheers! PS these are small screws. Work in a well lit area!

Cannon A610 shuts off when i push button to take photo

OK, long shot, but you never know. Press the top cover dowsn when you shot a photo. If camera is not powered off, then fasten the 3 screws that you may find at the top of the batteries housing unit.

How do I format the memory card on the Canon Powershot A610 camera

Hi,

The option to format the card should be in the camera's menu.

To do it properly consult the manual.

Other than that you can pop the card in a card reader, connect it to a computer and format the card that way.

Regards.

Canon Powershot A610 won't power-up

My camera stopped working some time later after being dropped.
If you are brave (or desperate), try this... I found it was not too difficult to open the camera up. Take all the screws from the bottom, sides and under the card and usb, and inside the battery compartment. They are all different lengths so keep some record of what goes where. Then I made sure the multiway connector underneath the top was firmly in place. That was all I could see that I could fix myself. And what luck! when I put it back together it worked.

Top trigger

!. check with Canon or parts availability -some modeles are considered 'disposable' and no parts are available
or they may offer to repair it for you.
