Cannot stop Searching message flashing on screen

Must have pressed the wrong keys in the dark - npw all three cordless phone are showing the same display and don't work. Line is fine - so are the batteries, How can I get back to notmal?

I emailed [email protected] and within two or three hours got a helpful email suggesting the following:

In the first instance please try disconnecting the power to the base station and removing the batteries from the handset for 15 minutes or so. Then reconnect everything and check if this has resolved the fault. This will re-synchonise the handsets to the base station.

The problem is now resolved.

How to set the time on my GE 27958GE1 Cordless Phone

1) press FLASH/PROGRAM until SET DAY shows
2) use MESSAGES/CID or the arrow buttons to select current day
3) press FLASH/PROGRAM until set time shows
4) use touch-tone pad to enter 1st, 2nd, 3rd, & 4th digits
5) use MESSAGES/CID or the arrow buttons to scroll to AM or PM
6) press FLASH/PROGRAM again to store your selection
7) press FLASH/PROGRAMrepeated to exit

I copied this from my manual onto a sticky label & have it stuck on the bottom of my phone for future reference.

Phone on base showing it is "searching" for base.

check to see if the power cord is properly plugged in. You may have the phones on the wrong cradles, this wil cause them to search.

Not registered

hello there i think this is because you need to register the second handset with the base here are the instructions

REGISTRATION
Registration links the base to a cordless handset. Once a handset is
registered it can use the base’s phone connection. A cordless handset will
not operate until it is registered to the base. During the registration
process, keep the handset near the base.
1. Press the flash/program button on the base until LINK HANDSET shows
in the display. 2NO is the default setting.
2. Press the 1 number key or press the MESSAGES/CID (or) button
on the base to scroll to 1YES.
3. Press flash/program to confirm handset is linked to the base. WAITING
HANDSET REGISTRATION shows in the display.
4. Press the flash/program button on the handset until LINK BASE? shows
in the display. 2NO is the default setting.
5. Press 1 on the handset keypad or cid/vol (or) button on the
handset to scroll to 1YES.confirmation tone when the handset is successfully linked to the base.
6. Press flash/program on the handset again to confirm. You will hear a long

Delete messages

This is from the manual.

Erasing Messages
You may erase messages in the following three ways:
To erase a message while it is playing
1. Press and release PLAY/STOP button.
2. Press the review and skip buttons to select and play the message you want to erase.
3. Press the delete button, the current message is erased, and the next message plays.
To erase all previously played Messages in a mailbox
1. Make sure the phone is OFF (not in talk mode)
2. Press and hold the delete button until "ALL OLD MESSAGES ERASED" is announced.
To erase a message from the handset :
1. Press the flash/answerer button on the handset
2. Press the play/stop (key 2) on the handset.
3. Press the erase (key 0) on the handset to erase a message during playback.
NOTE: Erased messages cannot be restored.

To reset the indicator(Red light flashing on handset), press and hold the find handset key for 5 seconds or until the light flashing stops(10 sec).

Uniden 5.8Ghz phone.

You need to reset the main base unit. Unplug the power from the back of the base. While the power is disconnected, press and hold the delete key while reconnecting the power. Wait for a long beep tone. When the display shows 88 or P, press play button one time. If you have a phone without an answering machine, disconnect the power from the back of the base, press and hold find hs button while reconnecting power.

Cordless phone

to play your messages

press the button with the speaker symbol on the handset it shows ans record on the screen, then press number 2 and your messages will play.

press * to delete the currently playing message DELETED will be displayed

to delete all your messages

press the speaker button ans record shows in the window, press the star button the display shows DELETE press ok to confirm the display shows deleted and you will hear a confirmation tone.
press c if you decide to cancel deletion

press and hold c to exit and return to standby
