My cable box is hooked up but no signal can u tell me whats wrong

If you hookup your TV directly to the coaxial cable, bypassing the cable-box, do you get a few channels? If so, then the coaxial cable is carrying a signal, which is good.

How are you hooking the output from the cable-box to the input(s) on the TV? Coaxial output port on box to coaxial input port on TV?
Red/blue/green "component" outputs on box to matching inputs on TV? Red/White audio outputs on box to red/white inputs on TV? HMDI output from box to HDMI input on TV?

You have to "tell" the TV which of the inputs:
* coaxial (with TV set to Channel 3 or 4)
* component
* HDMI
to "listen" to.

No sound. Tried disconnecting/reconnecting all input/output HDMI cables. Only computer is connected via RCAs (for sound only). No sound at all. Audio works on HDTV, which is going from cable box,...

Did the speaker relays light up ? and did you hear the third speaker relays ON clicking sound? If both no, DSP problem. If both yes, DIR problem. If the speaker relays lit up but NO speaker relay clicking sound, check relay driver +24V power supply.

When you connect the HDMI cable from the TV to the receiver, is the receiver to and the TV to work pr is some other connection needed?

You can't connect your receiver to the television to get sound that way unless your television has an hdmi output. Your tv more than likely does not have an hdmi output. Those are hdmi inputs on your television. The way to connect the television to the receiver is to connect the red and white RCA outputs from the tv to the red and white RCA inputs on the receiver to get stereo sound. Now if your television has a digital audio out you might be able to get surround sound with connecting a fiber optic cable between the digital audio out of the tv and the digital audio in on the receiver, but this does not always work for all of the devices you have connected to your television.

The way to go is to connect all of your devices to the television's inputs for video and directly to the receiver for sound. The devices are connected from their audio OUT to your receiver's audio IN.

I am about to receive an LG32LF4700 Freesat/HD TV If I disconnect the SKY Box and connect the TV direct to the Dish cable will I receive Freesat HD channels. Also can I connect an extra bedroom TV into the...

Yes you can split the signal out from the back of the Freesat/HD (not the TV)to the second TV.
Look what outputs are on the Freesat box - the RF (standard cable) output should go to the 2nd TV (TV set to CH3) and the a/v cables,HDMI or DVI cable should go to the new TV - Note:To receive HD the output from the Freesat should be either HDMI,DVI or Composite output (RGB video jacks) with red White for audio. If you have HDMI this is best - it also provides audio.

I need a diagram of how to hook up my jvc 5.1 surround sound to my tv, dvd and cable box

I my self don't have that exact unit, but most are similar, and i have looked up the specifications which are:

Inputs:
1 x S-video input
1 x Composite Video Inputs
1 x Digital Audio (TOSLINK) Input
1 x Stereo Audio Input

Outputs:

document.write(neg_specification_newline('1 x S-Video Output
1 x HDMI Output')1 x S-Video Output
1 x HDMI Output
INPUTS (coming from devices to the system):
1) The unit already comes with a DVD player, correct? If so you don't need to connect it. If you do, connect your DVD play via an s-video input, since a normal DVD player doesn't need a higher quality/resolution input.

2) Connect your cable box to the home theater system via a composite cable (the one with Red green blue), if it has composite outputs ofcourse. If not, do it visa versa with the DVD, if your dvd has composite. So make the dvd via composite and cable box via s-video.

3) Audio from the dvd, this would be via Digital Audio (TOSLINK) Input or stereo audio input. the digial audio will give you true 5.1 surround sound, and the stereo will only give you left and right channels, like you would hear from anything else (like a normal cd, radio, etc).

4) audio from cable box, would be again depending what you want. If you cable provider gives you alot of programming that has 5.1 surround sound (mostly HD channels), you would be better off with the digital audio. But if you watch more via your DVD, then connect the cable box via the stereo input. Again, this is to your preference, and which one you want true 5.1 surround sound from. The system should be able to 'emulate' 5.1 surround sound via the stereo cable too, but if your watching a movie, it can't really tell if a sound is supposed to come from the left rear or the left front.

Output:
5)connect to tv via HDMI if available, or S-video.

HDMI is much higher resolution (HD quality) S-video is normal cable programing or 'dvd quality'.

And the Tv would be left on mute or volume=0 since no audio is connected to the tv! All the audio should now come from your system.

Sorry if this was too vauge, but I don't have the same system and dont know exactly what/where all the connections are. If you have any other questions let me know.
