Cdp24201 base handset wont work

I have a trio of the olympia cdp24201 phones. All the phones work except for the base phone. The handset has suddenly stopped working. I can get a dial tone off the base intercom button but if I pick up the handset and try to get a dial tone its just dead. The handset says press C to search but if I do that it just keeps on searching and nothing ever happens. Any ideas?

You just need to take the battery out and wait 30 seconds, replace it and it should be able to find the base. i had this problem and called olympia and this is the fix they gave me. It's worked for 4 years!

I cannot get my Panasonic base KX-TG5583 to register 8th handsets - only seven

It has to do with the electrical load that each ringer imposes on the line. Each set has a limit on how many handsets you can register with it. If you look on the bottom of the base you will see on the identification plate a data item called Ringer Equivalence Number or REN.

In telecommunication, a ringer equivalence number (REN) is a somewhat arbitrary number which denotes the electrical load a telephone ringer has on the line.

Cannot dial out when i call with my cell phone the phone rings but not on panasonic. phone says no link to base, move closer to base, still does not work

When my Panasonic goes stupid, I follow the instructions in the manual to re-register the handset. It involves the register command in the handset, pressing the handset locator on the base, then pressing O.K. on the handset and they find each other.

It seems to do this about 2 or 3 times a year, mostly after power failures.

The handset says SEARCHING for base......what do I need to do

That's usually a network problem brother, contact your service provider for free customer support. It could also mean that the unit may be having problems with its signal, like your out of coverage area.

GE MODEL 28112 DECT 6.0 CORDLESS PHONE

I contacted GE today and they told me how to get the caller ID to work on the additional handsets. You must follow these steps in the exact order given.

#1 - unplug the base phone
#2 - unplug the telephone line from the base phone
#3 - remove the battery packs from the phones
#4 - wait 10 minutes.

reverse the order when assembling. Put battery packs in phones, put the telephone line back in the base phone and lastly plug all phones back in. It takes about another 10 minutes after that before all phones start recognizing caller ID but it now works fine.

Vtech M6896 phones do not work

Step 1: Press and hold FIND HANDSET on the main telephone base for 10 seconds.

Step 2: When the IN USE light starts to flash, release the FIND HANDSET button.

Step 3: Press and release FIND HANDSET again. The IN USE light will turn off and in a few seconds, all handsets will be de-registered.

Step 4: All handsets will show NOT REGISTERED.

To register a handset (register 1 handset at a time):
Step 1: Place the handset in the base unit or a charger that is connected to a power outlet. If PRESS FIND HNDST 4 SEC ON BASE does not appear on the screen after a few seconds, lift up handset and place in base or charger again.

Step 2: On the telephone base, press and hold FIND HANDSET for four seconds. Release FIND HANDSET once the IN USE light comes on.

After a while the handset will emit a series of tones, the newly registered handset will be assigned the lowest extension number not previously assigned to another system handset (1-4) when successfully registered. Repeat Steps 1 and 2 if the handset does not successfully register to the telephone base within two minutes.
