This worked for me. I turned off the washer and hit the area on the washer directly to the right of the door handle (not hard enough to break something or cause a dent). It popped right open.

1. Unplug the power cord from the outlet.
2. Remove the front lower kick panel.
3. Reach up along the inside of the front panel and locate the bottom of the door latch assembly.
4. Located on the bottom of the door latch assembly is a tear-drop shaped tab.
5. Gently pull the tab down about quarter inch or until a click is heard.
6. The door may now be opened.

I will put it on drain & spin cycle it will start spinning for a min then comp stop all lights go off and door locks

Have a top loader that does same thing. To reset the motor to spin the clothes, unplug washer for several minutes and plug back in. Immediately after the lid disengages open and close the door 6 consecutive times quickly. This worked enough to get a few loads done but we had to eventually replace the Accuator which I got on Amazon and my husband replaced it. He found all kinds of help on YouTube by make and model. You will find the majority are made by the same 2or 3 manufacturers and problems on one and fix is about the same on all of them. You just have to order the part that fits your particular model number. It's not hard to fix depending where it's located on a front loader.

I have a Whirlpool washing machine, front loader, AWM 323. I have just finished washing a load but cannot open the door!

If your machine is a Duet model or it's relative, first unplug the machine then remove the lower valance under the door (three screws on the botttom of the machine) reach up by the door lock and you'll find a plastic tab hanging down, that's the manual release for the door lock. Wile you have the valance off look inside the machine and pull out the technician sheets that are stuck on the inside wall of the machine, you may need them later.

Control Lock is on my front loader.

You should be able to unlock the control lock by holding the "end of cycle" signal for 3 seconds or until the "control locked" status light turns off.

If that doesn't work, please post your model number.

Front loader washing machine. wet clothes stuck inside. door lock won't release.

I've had this problem before i unplugged it because holding down the lock button didn't work so unplugging it from the wall for about 20 minutes worked just fine it seemed to reset itself. good luck.
