Bosch shu43 not draining- hums but doesn't drain.

We had a garbage disposal back up and this caused problems with the dishwasher. We got the float reset thanks to this website and now it fills and runs again. However, it still will not drain. We cleaned out the lines and the impeller is turning smoothly. I don't know what else to try. It hums like it is trying to drain but does not.

Something might be stuck in the blades, and even though the impeller is working, the blades cant. That means there might be a blockage. Thats usually the reason why something wont drain. I'm not an expert, its just me trying to be helpful, I do "little fixes" around the house and have taken apart a sink before to clean out the drain. [find a butter knife once] You might have to take the disposal out to go over it.

Try running citric acid (3 tablespoons) through.
You can get it from a drug store.
Or, run 1/2 cup vinegar through.
Do this in both the dish washer and the disposal.
After doing this try running some water into the disposal and then see if the next time you run the dishwasher if it still smells.
You could be having a problem with water not staying in the drain trap under your sink that is why if you run water and fill the trap, then you will find out if it was the dry trap that caused the smell from sewer gases backing up into the house trough the garbage disposal.

SOURCE: where is the float on bosch silver edition?

Hi, This model could well have two systems that will let it fill. One will be on the left hand side as you look at the dishwasher which will require you to remove the side panel. Start with this first as if it is the later version then it will be in the bottom of the dishwasher which will require you to remove the side panels to get to it. The switch in the first method will be a small micro swith and the other will be a large pressure switch located in the bottom. I would think it will be the first method.
Look at it and let me know how you get on.

SOURCE: bosch dishwasher shx55m with bottom tub full of water

The dishwasher really shouldn't pass any particles near large enough to clog the drain hose. It sounds more like a mechanical issue. Check the circuit breaker to make sure it's not tripped. See if you can hit a cancel button or something to make it drain. Try to run another cycle. If the computer is stuck or acting funny, trying cutting the power for a while, holding down a stop/reset/cancel button, or running a cycle that you don't usually run. I had this kitchenaid that would randomly refuse the normal wash cycle, but would run fine when you ran rinse only or something, then regular wash and everything would be fine again too. If the line somehow is clogged, there's a good chance it's right where the hose connects to the disposal or drain pipe.

Just had the same problem, same model. Found the wiring below the front cover fried. So now I'm checking to see if anyone else had this happen.

MY DISHWASH WILL NOT DRAIN COMPLETELY. I HAVE USE THE RESET BUTTONS MANY TIMES... THERE IS STILL ABOUT A CUP OF WATER LET..? WHAT IS WRONG. MODEL SHE45M06UC/50 THANK YOU

Since the drain pump will pump the water out using the "cancel/drain" button, if it did not work then your problem is likely to be in the drain hose system or the garbage disposal downstream from the drain pump. Check for kinks in clogs in the drain hose. Grease can build up in the portion of the drain hose just before it attaches to the garbage disposal.

We put in a new garbage disposal and now our dishwasher wont workit starts each cycle we suggest, but the water does not run and the cycle does not move forward

Hi, Does the drain hose for your dishwasher connect to the disposer ? If so, has the knock out for the drain tube in the disposer been "knocked out" ? Check that and reply. We'll move forward from there if need be. Good luck. Macmarkus :)

Dishawasher won't drain, sounds like a stuck garbage disposal

check for a kink in the discharge hose. Also, the hose must go up higher than the top of the dishwasher, then descend to the drain. Otherwise the waste water will flow back into the tub by siphon action.

I installed a new bocsh dishwasher and garbage disposal. The water is not draining. I routed the drain hose on the floor rather than looping it up the back of the dishwasher, due the short lenght of drain...

If you did not remove the plug from the disposer drain where you made your drain connection will cause the dishwasher not to drain. This should have been mentioned in your installation instructions. Also, routing the drain hose other than what is specified in the instructions, will allow food waste to enter the dishwasher when you grind food in the disposer. Read your instructions and don't take shortcuts, you want to have your appliances work well for a long time, as you have made a considerable investment in some quality appliances.

Hope this helps!

change your water pump or belt . Also make sure that no one just changed the garbage disposal and did not take the plug out of the disposal housing before installing the washer drain.

Bosch shu43co5 dishwasher doesn't drain completely

I don't think there is a solenoid, its a drain pump.. don't know if you have a draining problem, but try taking the d/w drain line off your sink drain line and check to see if the water will drain out. you can use a wet vac to clear out drain line.. also, if you have a new garbage disposal under sink make sure the side drain area for dishwasher is punch out. Hope this will help...
