Machine will not print double-sided documents

We sent a document from the computer to be printed, making sure to tell the machine to print on both sides, but it printed on just one side. Then we put the printed (one-sided) document through the document feeder and told the machine to print from single side to double side (1-->2 on the "2 Sided" print buttons), but no luck. So we turned the machine off and on again to clear any commands that may have been lurking inside, but still no luck with double-sided printing.

The only thing we did differently today was to fax out from the machine for the first time. Until now, we've had no problems with printing double-sided documents.

Try resetting the NVRAM from the diagnostics screen.

Also make sure that you dont have Labels selected as your Paper type for the tray you are printing from.

Double sided copies

Your printer has Duplex printing Capabilities. However when you are ready to send the print job, open the Printer Properties and select Double Sided.

To copy a Double sided document, insert it in the ADF (Automatic Document Feeder) and open the copy settings on the machine and select Double sided.

How to set a MG5220 printer to do 2-sided copies?

The Canon MG5220 has a built-in auto duplexer and can print 2-sided documents. On a Mac, click print, and in the print dialog box select Duplex Printing & Margins (drop down options below Printer and Presets). Check the Duplex Priting box, and selected the Stapling side. Then click Print. That's it!!

Cannot print double sided

On the machine when a 2 sided document is inserted in the document handler, select the 2x2 button on the console. Press the start button and the machine will feed the document in, and do a reverse of the document for the second scan. In the paper feeder, the machine feeds the paper in and reversed the copy back into the machine, flips the copy then feeds the copy back for the second side to be copied.
If you do not have a m20i, the lower model numbers will not do two sided copies.

Printer will not print

First of all basics:
1. Make sure printer is switched on and connected to computer.
2. Go to Control Panel and then Printers and Faxes. Double click the icon for your printer. When box appears click on Printer then make sure that "Use printer offline" is not checked. If it is, left click to uncheck this option.
3. If there is a queue of documents waiting to be printed then again click on Printer and click on Cancel all documents. This should clear the backlog. Restart the computer and follow step 3 again to make sure the print queue is empty before attempting to print anything.

Double sided issues

Duplex means 2 sided copying. If you have an odd number of pages, then it will do this if you are sticking them all together (if I understand what you are saying correctly). Either seperate your jobs or stick a blank piece of paper at the end to correct this. Again, I am not sure if I am understanding your situation correctly, but I think that will correct it if its what I think you are saying? Clear as mud, huh?

WHEN I HIT PRINT NOTHING COME OUT BUT WHEN I SHUT DOWN THEN I START IT UP AGAIN THE PRINT COME OUT WHY

check and make sure the printer is "online" - look under the printers and scanners applet
Make sure spooling is active
This sounds like the print buffer is not active so the print job is being written to your hard drive instaed of the printer buffer.
Send the document to the printer then double click on the print manager icon in the status area of the screen ( bottom right hand corner) you should see the document in the list and if there is a problem, scroll along to the right to read what is happening with the document.
If this list is full, cancel all documents and clear this list.
Then reboot your machine to clear the printer buffer and the printer should not print anything on reboot.
Then print the document again but only once, then recheck print managers list.
Most printing issues can be seen here in print manager..

let me know if this helps
