Manual wheel on side of machine won't move needle

I'm not familiar with the name of the wheel on the side of the machine. But it spins and will not move the needle. The needle will move with the pedal. Also, I am having trouble getting the bobbin thread to come up. Please help. Thank you.

Hi there;
well try to rotate hand wheel center holder clockwise while hold grift the handwheel not to move to engage the clutch,because ther is clutch that holding the movement of the needle and the bobbins case.if still nothing change at all,open a cover motor assembly chech the belt tension if still engage on pulley,maybe slip pulley is occuring when motor run,if belt is slip to pulley replace belt,but if ok upon clutch adjustment ignore replacement.

regarding bobbin and threading you can watch on youtube.doing this,on internet explorer,type www.youtube.com
then on you tube search type"sewing machine"then click search
ther are high ligthed show for bobbins winding and treading just click it enjoy watching while you learn,have a nice viewing regards
don't forget to rate me,thank's

How do I adjust timing on a Singer 20u33? I have the user manual, but that is not included.

THE HOOK IS UNDERNEATH THE PLATE. YOU WILL SEE IT SPIN AROUND OR ONLY A LITTLE OVER HALFWAY AND SPIN BACK TO BEGIN A NEW TIME. THE HOOK HAS TO MEET THE TOP OF THE NEEDLE HOLE AS THE NEEDLE IS RISING. (BENEATH THE PLATE.) WATCH THIS CAREFULLY WHILE ROTATING THE HAND WHEEL TOWARDS YOU. YOU WILL SEE THE NEEDLE AND THE HOOK MEET WHERE I SAID. IF THEY DON'T MEET AT THE RIGHT TIME THE THREAD FROM THE NEEDLE WON'T BE SNAGGED. TO CORRECT THIS YOU WILL HAVE TO LOOK IN THE BOTTOM PORTION OF THE MACHINE AND STUDY THE CRANKSHAFT FOR ADJUSTMENT HEX SCREWS. THIS CRANKSHAFT GOES TO THE HOOK. LOOSEN THE SCREWS AND MOVE THE HOOK SLIGHTLY TO MOVE THE HOOK UNTIL IT HAS BEEN TIMED WITH THE NEEDLE HOLE.

Sewing machine wheel won't turn, motor whirrs

So it sounds like the motor is working but nothing happens? And the hand wheel works ok by hand but nothing when the motor is engaged.

You've broken a belt. I'm not familiar with the 930, but if it has an internal motor... take it in to have it done. It's way too easy to knock these out of time. Spend the extra cash and have it cleaned lubed and adjusted too.

I have a babylock 1556 and when I press the foot petal the belt turns, but it won't move the needle up and down. I took off the back so I could watch and see what was going on. I can see the belt...

On the side of the 'knob', look for another wheel that tightens against that, so it engages, that's what it sounds like. When that second wheel is loose, it won't run, it just spins. From the photo I can find of the unit, it looks like that second wheel is below it, but I can't be certain. Let me know how you make out. Please rate and comment, thank you,
Joe
