It depends. Have you checked the Netgear support site for FAQ and the manual. In some routers, orange lights indicate wired 100Mbps connections while green indicates 1000Mbps. In other cases, blinking lights indicated that the router is 'bricked'.
hi, make sure you have your router connected to your cable modem. make sure the internet lights are blinking on both.
no internet light on modem: this indicates that the internet service provider has an internet outage. call them and see if internet is down in your area. if it is up, they will probably have to replace the modem.
internet light on modem bot not on router: this indicates that you have the cable plugged in the wrong port, or you are using a bad cable. make sure the internet cable coming from the modem is plugged into the routers "Internet" port, not the ones labeled 1,2,3,4. if that was not the problem, check with another cable.
software issues: if you have an internet light on both devices, yet the problem persists, go on your computer: 1) click the start button 2) click control panel 3) click network and internet 4) click network and sharing center 5) click change addapter settings (located on the left hand navigation bar) 6) right click on your local area network. 7) go to properties 8) click on internet protocol 4 (tcp/IPv4) 9) click properties 10) make sure you have is set to automatically obtain an ip address.
Power light indicates power supply is good... Ethernet light indicates connection between modem and computer is good... DSL light indicates connection between modem and telphone line is good... Also DSL light should be steady and it should not flash... If it flashes then it says there is a lot of noise in telephone line... Internet light says whether the internet status is connected or not...Internet light can flash depending upon the internet activity...
According to the user guide, the modem is trying to connect to the isp. If it is continually blinking, check all your cables. Once you are satisfied all cables are properly connect contact the isp to find out if there is an outage in your area and if not they can help you.
Most of the time a red internet light means that the box can't find the internet / can't find it ISP / can't get on the DSL what ever.
Might be the modem, might be the power adapter.
this sounds like the internet service is available because the internet light does come on but it sounds like the password is incorrect. i suggest you contact your ISP to confirm you access is ok
