Printer prints always only a blank page

When I am trying to prints a documents (no matter from which software: Word, Excel, Notepad, Adobe Acrobat, Image, etc.), the printer prints only a blank page. Using the HP tools, the cartridge alignment printed OK, the test page is printed OK. Printing from another PC is working fine. I have tried to uninstall the driver, remove the driver files from the windows directory and reinstall did not helped. Does anyone know how to solve it (without re-install the windows) ?

2 more things to try. Assuming it is USB Change USB port. Re boot the computer. Replace the cable. Reboot the computer. Coming back to the driver software. Go to Start /Printers and Faxes/Install new printer Leave what is there in place When the Wizard comes up and asks CD or Select from list Choose select from list - then go to HP and your model and simply load the generic driver. Try each alteration one at a time Tell us what you get.

Can't print pdf documents- I get a message that I must install printer. I am able to print other word docs, just not pdf.

It could be your adobe acrobat reader responsible for PDF documents

If you can print using other applications definitely it has nothing to do with printer.

Try downloading latest version of acrobat reader from adobe website.
Unintstall the acrobat reader software from your PC in ARP (add remove programs)

reinstall the latest version of adobe acrobat reader

Try links below it may help you too

I can't print pdf

This is not a printer problem ... this is a software problem. You don't mention your operating system so it is difficult to go much further. You can check your hardware compatability ... likely not the problem since you don't say you can't print other formats, yet, still a possibility. For Microsoft operating system ... check here: http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/hcl/default.mspx

I suggest you check your drivers to make sure everything is up to par.

Generally, you will find an alternative format is also provided for the document, such as Microsoft Word, HTML, or plain text. If you cannot access a document in PDF format and there is no alternative version, please contact the agency or contact the Maine.gov webmaster for assistance.
Adobe PDF-to-HTML Online Conversion Tool
We've provided solutions for some common PDF issues below.
General Tips: Problem 1: Blank Page in Browser You have selected to download a file and you receive a blank page with a "Done" message at the bottom of the browser. This may be because you do not have enough space in your temporary internet file folder to complete the download.
Solution: Internet Explorer: Tools> Internet Options> Temporary Internet Files> select Delete Files
Netscape: Edit> Preferences> Under Category on the left Advanced> Cache> click Clear Memory Cache
Problem 2: Blank Page "%PDF" You received an error message containing "% PDF" or you have received a blank page while trying to download. This is due to a problem with your web browser not opening .pdf documents correctly.
Solution: Adobe Acrobat Reader 5.0: Edit> Preferences> General> Options> Web Browser Options> make sure the Display PDF in Browser box is not checked.
Adobe Acrobat Reader 6.0 and newer: Edit > Preferences > Internet > make sure the Display PDF in Browser box is not checked.
Problem 3: "Error Locating Object Handler" You receive an error message that says "Error Locating Object Handler" while trying to download a document. This is because there is a dependency with a plug-in for Adobe Acrobat while using Internet Explorer.
Solution: Please go to the following website for detailed instructions: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;q262213
Problem 4: Unable to Print You have successfully downloaded the pdf, can view it on your computer screen but are unable to print. This is due to a post script error with your printer.
Solution: In any Acrobat Reader program: File > Print > check the Print As Image box > OK
Problem 5: "Adobe Reader could not open file" You received the error message "Adobe Reader could not open 'filename.pdf'" because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been corrupted (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded).
Solution: Adobe Acrobat Reader 6.0: Edit> Preferences> Internet> make sure the Display PDF in Browser box is not checked.

WHEN I AM TRYING TO PRINT THE PDF FILE , I AM GETTING DIFFERENT MARGINS COMPARED TO ORIGINAL PDF FILE.SOME PRINTER IT IS ACTUAL AND SOME PRINTER IT IS DIFFERENT.HOW TO RECTIFY SUCH PROBLEM.KINDLY...

Acrobat reader scales pages on printing, depending on the printer and its driver. By default, Acrobat Reader will use one of the scaling options.
Before printing the PDF document be sure that you select the right kind of paper size such as A4, Letter and B5 which will be printed. Paper size is defined in the Document Setup dialog box for the document.
To print the document without different margin problem:
- Open the Acrobat Reader’s Print dialog box (Choose File > Print).
- Choose “None” from the “Page Scaling” drop-down list. (It will not change until you change it again).
- Then click “OK” to print the document.
This may solve your problem.

I need to combine Word documents and Excel files into one pdf A-4 size document. The Word documents come out A-4, but the Excel always comes out as letter size??

First you will need to create separate .pdf files then you can combine files with Adobe Acrobat through command Document/Insert Pages.

Printer prints blank pages from notepad, word, and excel.

Hi tim8094

Obviously there is nothing wrong with the printer, because you are able to print from the Internet.

Before attempting to print from word, excel etc, make sure you have the correct printer selected (check it through FILE MENU -> PRINT ->PROPERTIES)
Do a print test by typing just couple of words -may be in different color-
Best of luck

I have a HP Deskjet 1300n printer. I can print my email, pictures and items off the internet, but cannot print any word documents or notepad documents. When I print an excel document, I get an incomplete page-the grid lines will print, and text garbage from a adobe program but not all the text. When I do a test print page, I get an incomplete text page, but do not know how to solve this. I have removed and reloaded the printer software-no improvement. There are no new drivers to be installed.
