Technics turntable model SL-bd27. center spindle rubbing noise.

There is a slight rubbing noise in the center spindle once each revolution. I also hear it when spinning the turntable with the belt and power off. I made a cd recording using the turntable and it is very evident in the recording.

You have 4 wires coming from the needle pickup to the cables which connect to the amplifier/receiver. I would check the needle, the pickup unit, and the leads from the pickup to the cables. You can probably run a continuity test or ohm test for verification. If that checks, pickup and needle is your next step.

SOURCE: Where is the ground wire connected to on the Technics SL-BD27?

You will more than likely need to wire it up from the inside of the unit, unfortunately. Parts for this model are discontinued. You can also try an iPod cable. As the size is a 1/8" plug - same as an iPod cable, then just cut the other end, and ground to your receiver.

SOURCE: i PURCHASED A LIKE NEW TECHNICS SL BD27 TURNTABLE.

Yes you need a pre amp

It would also be the same if you connected it to a computer to record an LP to CD. Mine is a little different and has one already built in that I can switch in and out of line.

Try spend a little more if you can as many pre amps can introduce noise.

You may also want to check that the turntable is properly grounded to prevent noise too

How do i install a belt on technics turntable sl-bd22

If you remove the rubber pad, you should be able to grasp the metal table. A gentle tap onto the center spindle while pulling up on the table should release the table. Place the new belt onto the underside of the table. Replace the table onto the spindle. Then feed the belt over the motor hub.

Hi, could just be platter not fitted hard down on spindle. I suggest you remove the platter and place it upon a dead flat surface to check to see that the platter is flat. If it is flat refit to turntable ensuring it is hard down on the spindle. If bent discard and replace with new platter.Platters can be ordered for all model 1200/1210 from [email protected]

Technics multiple play spindle wearing out it seems.

Need the model number. Technics released over 100 turntables between 1970-1990 - so a model number would help us in determining what you need.
