We have a wireless dlink router and cant seem to connect our cell phones or playstation anymore yet our laptop still has internet. our cell phones said always that we were connected to skitchnet which is our lastname (skitch) and when we originally set up our internet we chose this...now it switched on its own to (dlink) then to (owner-pcownernetwork) and none of us can get on wifi yet out laptop still works. our internet provider (silo) was very rude and stated that we have to buy a new good router from them like a dlink r-outer which we were shocked cuz we do have a dlink router....please help us? we -live in Ontario Canada... 1-519-443-0312 thank you Lori Skitch

Try a factory reset. You can do this by login into you router and under Admin settings press the factory reset button. You will have to reset the router from scratch using the wizard. The otehr way to do a reset is there should be a small hole on the back side of the router - where powered on, us a pencil tip if paperclip to push in this hole for about 10 seconds and this should reset your router to its out of box factory settings.

Usually you can login on your browser to you router and go to the management section to check for firmware updates and select that button and it will download and install the firmware. On some models, you have to go to the D-link web site and look for firmware updates for your router. Always check what you current firmware you have installed and check the version of you router modem (A, B, C etc). Then you can manually download the firmware (usually in a ZIP file), open the zip file, and then using your browser connected to the router look for Update Firmware. You will have to go to where (folder) you saved the downloaded update and select that file. It is recommended that you update using a LAN connection and not a wireless connection.

This is an intermittent wireless connection problem. If you have a cordless phone there, that's the main problem. If none, you need to change the wireless channel of your router to 11. You can do that by opening the router's admin page. If that didn't help, you need to update the router's firmware. Contact Dlink support for more details on how to update the router's firmware.

what is happening is ur voice frequency is bleeding in to the ur digital frequency
what u have to do is change channels of frequency on ur router

type 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 for most routers
in address bar and that should take u in to the interphase of router then go to wireless settings and change the channel that ur running on

On which port of the D-link router did you plug the WRT160N router?

Do this setup.

Disconnect the WRT160N from D-link.

Connect a computer to port 1 of the WRT160N. Access the setup page by typing 192.168.1.1 on the address bar. you may need to type in the username and password for WRT160N. on the setup page Change the LAN IP address from 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.2.1. save the settings.

Connect a cable from port 1,2,3 or 4 of the D-link router to the Internet port of the WRT160N. turn off everything then turn them on starting from cable modem>D-link >WRT160N then computer.

You should be able to access the internet.

You need to cascade the Dlink wireless router to your RV042.

Suppose your RV042 has a default IP Address of 192.168.1.1, and the DLINK IP uses 192.168.0.1. Your Physical connection is from the regular port of the RV042 going to the WAN/Internet Port of the DLink wireless router.

Once you do that, your Dlink router should automatically obtain an IP from the main router. If it did, configure your wireless settings and you should be able to connect via wireless.

This is just one way to cascade your router to another router.
