Jenn Air model S176W

I too had the error code of F1 coming up on my Jenn Air stove - managed to get another year out of it - until now. The circuit board has been beeping so much that I removed it from the stove all togehter. Having done that I noticed a burn mark on the plastic around the display - wondering if heat from the stove over time caused this problem? Anyway - now it's a question of getting a whole new stove for $2,000.00 or paying $200.00 for another circuit board and not knowing if that will work or for how long. Doesn't look promising from what I read on the net. Any suggestions?

Unfortunately whit the technical comes technical problems. Circuit boards are repeated problem in my profession. Replacing the circuit board will fix the oven, but also inspect the door gasket to insure a tight fit. Depending on the age and condition of the oven you may consider replacement.

Heat and moisture (steam) kills the electronics in any control. but if the mark are on a circuit then there was a short in a circuit. I would check the series if your stove( first two numbers in the serial number)if it is a early series. for sure that they have make improvements in the control. And a Replacement controls will have all the improvement and revisions. good luck and let me know what you do..kraztech

This model has no heat shield to effectively protectI the control board and as far as I can recall I believe there is no fan to exhaust the heat out but just uses a convection way of eliminating excess heat. I know someone who bought a second board but only after only a litlle over a year it went again with the problem. It's time to buy a new one.

SOURCE: Jenn air range model SCE30600B error code FC

replace the entire range: Jennair does not know how to design, make, or program electronics. It makes steel boxes that provide heat but electronics - that's not within their ability. Buy a Kenmore or a GE and your beeping problem will go away.

SOURCE: Jenn-Air SCE 30600, oven error codes F1 and Probe

An F-1 error code on your model means the element was energized when it should not have been, A shorted interconnect harness or failed power relay board.

A probe indication could be a failed meat probe jack or bad harness in a unit that has one. In a unit without a meat probe, suspect a bad board.

Both conditions would warrant bringing in a tech.

Before you do, turn off the circuit breaker fot 3 miutes and turn it back on. This will reboot the boards. If problem persists, the call a service tech.

Jenn-Air Range displaying Error F1-8

Did not find an error code "F1-8"
I did find these. Seems that about everything that can go wrong with a Jenn Air is related to the clock.

I have s176w jennair range that flashes and F1 signal and a makes a buzzing sound when I turn any burners on

F1 usually go back to the electronic control board. Unplug and replug the power back on. If error code comes back, replace board.
You might want to check all wires going to the board for anything unusual...make sure they are properly attached etc.

F1 error code and constant beeping and oven shuts off.

Hi gwhiz03,

If you are having error code F1 with your Jenn-Air double wall oven this is because you have a defective touch pad or clock (ERC). This simple test will help determine whether the ERC (Electronic Range Control or Clock) or the touch pad is defective when F1 error code is present.

Note: Some models incorporate the touch pad in to the ERC as a single assembly, in which case this test is not necessary. Simply replace the ERC (Clock).

Warning: If you feel in any way uncomfortable performing this test or making this repair, please contact a qualified appliance repair technician.

1. Disconnect power to the range (unplug the range power cord or turn the power off to the range at the circuit breaker). It is very important that the power to the range has been disconnected, so please double check before continuing.
2. Gain access inside the control panel.
3. Disconnect the touch pad (also called keypad or membrane switch) ribbon from the ERC.
4. Make sure there are no lose wires, or anything else that may cause a short when power is turned back on. Assemble the control panel back the way it was.
5. Turn the power back on.
6. Wait for at least one hour to see if the F1 code comes back (usually accompanied by a beeping sound).
7. If F1 comes back, replace the ERC. If it does not, replace the touch pad.

Hope this helps.

Model S176W Jenn-air F-1 code flashing and beeping

Not sure what an F1 code is on that unit, but an easy check here,
shut off unit at breaker, remove face and unhook touchpad (ribbon) from the ERC. Turn the breaker back on, If the error code stops and it doesn't beep, the touchpad is most likely the problem. If it continues to beep and throw code, could be the Erc, (or something else telling the erc somethings wrong.) without knowing the F1 fault code, I wouldnt know where to start looking!

I would probably recommend a tech to reinstall the new Erc and or touchpad. Most new electrical components require extreme care when handling/installing, and a tech will know the proper procedures. Good Luck!
