AC has stopped working. CT3500 thermostat. Had "replace battery" indicator on. Replaced batteries with fresh new ones. Now the blower is not working when AC is on. If I set the thermostat to Fan ON, the fan turns on. When the thermostat demands cooling the fan then turns off. As soon as I turn the cool off the fan turns back on again. Is the thermostat goosed?

Its fixed now. I bypassed the thermostat but the problem persisted confirming the problem was not the thermostat. I discovered that the circuit for "Fan ON" is not the same as for Heat demand or Cool demand, so I was pretty sure it was a bad relay on the controller board. $400 later and the new controller board installed it is back working again.

Possibly - the fan is supposed to work in conjunction with the compressor. Otherwise the evaporator will freeze up.
Check to see if the thermostat can be reset to factory defaults because it definitely is not working right.

SOURCE: flashing battery symbol

I had this same problem today.  I called Honeywell and they said the flashing broken battery symbol may mean low batteries, or it may mean the battery type is incorrect.  They recommend only non-rechargeable alkaline batteries.  I was using rechargeable NiMH batteries.  Even though they were fully charged, I had the flashing battery symbol and the thermostat relay would not work.  I replaced with alkaline, the flashing battery indicator went out, the thermostat works again.
Odd that it worked for 3 months on the rechargeables after first install. I did notice the broken battery symbol came on after the first few days, but I checked the battery charges and they were good, so I disregarded the symbol until the thermostat stopped working today.  Apparently there is something about the NiMH performance characteristic that the thermostat doesn't like.

Pro1 t701 thermostat issue with 3 units

The "technician" is trying to solve your A/C problem by juggling parts - not the best approach. If the "technician" returns, suggest that the control board be checked for correct functioning (not just a thermostat voltage check). Have the tech obtain a thermostat from a different source - not company stock. Install fresh Energizer batteries (as recommended by some thermostat suppliers).

Samsung R480 Will not charge or turn on but indicator lights flash or stay on.

Swap out the ram one at a time testing to see if you can power up, making sure there is one in the memory slot at all times, if this works the piece in your hand is defective, no difference! the motherboard has major issues.

Dell xps m1210 won't power up with new battery. Check notes.

If it is working fine with a fresh battery then it is not a motherboard problem. It is either a bad ac adapter jack on the motherboard or the actual ac adapter cord is not working. Try cables2go.com as they have replacement ac adapters for almost everything under the sun. Hope this helps.

Honeywell Chronotherm IV Plus requires frequent resetting.

Check to see if you have wires going to a C/C1 terminal. The older chronotherms used a transformer to supply 24 volts to power the clock. If in fact you do have these terminals, then I would suggest checking the output voltage on the transformer, (secondary (24v)side) to ensure it isn't close to dead. Hope this helps

Thermostat message battery low. Put in two new batteries and it will not reset or start. Lost Power during storm and cannot get it going again.

Let me see if I understand your question.. your thermostat indicated the batteries needed to be replaced so you changed them with new ones.. With new batteries, you cannot get your thermostat to initialize or program correctly and as a result of that, you cannot get your AC system to start up.. If that is true, please provide the Honeywell Model # and verify the batteries you installed were Ok,...
Will attempt to assist once you've provided this info..

( on an off chance, have you checked the fuse or cuircuit breaker for your AC system to make sure it has power available?) This is especially important after a power outage..
