hmm i had the same problem the saturday before on my lt-42x579but i didnt have anything hooked up to it blue light came on then flashed ..no pic this happend one week after it was pd off from a rental store we should investigate

hi,
the most probably is broken one of neon lamps that illuminates led display .you can check that when you turn it on and flashes, see if one side of screen is brighter then other.
also,it can be that power supply in led display got weakened and haven`t got enough power,but that is job for service like any bigger failure.
this is not the only answer,there is always several solutions but you have to give more informations about malfunctions.

Its not making it out of standby, you could if can safely get it apart (ask if in doubt) inspect the power supply board for damage or puffed up filter caps, then consider having a shop look it over--All makers only sell circuit boards and no individual parts.
