Motorola DCT700 won't power up.

its working correct... thats sounds normal

now you just need to wake it up. turn it on using the remote supplied by your cabe operator. if anything it may be your remote that isn't working. does a "cbl" light or anything light up on the remote when you press the cable box power button? if not try to find out how to put it in cable mode and try again.

wish i had more info

good luck

DCT700/US - Unable to turn on with remote. Yellow light flashes on then off to brief red light then nothing. Tried removing cables and plugging in to power outlet only, but same result.

it sounds like the box is working proper... just needs to wake up. the remote may be your problem.
God Bless Motorola For Giving Us Cable Boxes With No Buttons!
ok, does your remote have lights that flash when you hit buttons?
for example pushing volume lights up tv. if the cable light doesn't flash then it may need reprogrammed. if none of this applies to your remote... sorry

My Motorola dct700 is turning on and showing the guide page but says channel should come on soon had been this way all day, nothing wrong with the cable trying to get it on rather than waiting for tech. I...

This only happens under 2 conditions. 1) you are not getting signal or 2) the box is bad. Now if you have cable in the rest of the house it could be a glitch with that box. Sometimes the box doesn't communicate to the cable co or vice versa. By resetting I'm assuming you disconnected power from the wall and waited over a minute. A call to the cable co will be needed to resend a signal over the line to activate it. Some cable co can even do this by an automated system. If the box is bad, well you gotta call them anyway.

I have a dct700 which is displaying only a red light next to the messages and no other lights. I have disconnected and reconnected the box several times and have also checked all the cables. I am not...

those are the only 2 lights on a dct700
the red one usually means you have a message under the menu (probably junk mail about upgrading to video, internet and phone)

try to find out if your on the right channel.
-if a cable goes from your box to the tv use the buttons on your tv to get to 3 or 4
-if the red, white and yellow goes to your tv look for a input or source button on your tv and press it repeatedly till you find the correct input

to clear that message after you get a picture go to menu and try to find something about messages.

I have the guide but no picture for 3 hours now. keeps telling me should get picture shortly ref s0a00?????

you lost your cable signal....
the guide is saved in the box, thats why you still see it
that temp off air message is also generated by your box because its not recieving anything from your cable provider.

make certain all cables from wall to cable box are tight then call your provider

good luck

Remote Codes for Motorola Cable Box DCT700/US

I have run into this problem with my Sharp Aquos as well. This is not necessarily a code problem but an interference problem.

If you take your hand or a thick book and sort of make a hood over the area of the sensor on the cable box and place the remote right up close to the sensor this will help let you know if the remote and the box are working with the code. Also might try turning off the TV or unplug the TV to test and make sure the remote will turn on the box.

Next thing after you determine this is how to block the interference and be able to use your remote. What we did is placed the Wii on top of the box over the area of the sensor and this seems to have done pretty good.

Good Luck ....

Just want to know if i can get hd channels with a regular comcast motorola dct700 box, if so how? Also, what DVD player should I buy with this, as well as type of cables. TV just given to me, no remote,...

No HD channels on a DCT700, you have to have a HD capable box from comcast. Usually $8.95 a month for box rental. Don't know a lot about DVD players. If you get a comcast HD box, and have an HD TV, you should use an HDMI cable for best picture. Second choice is component cables. Those are the red, white and yellow or red, white yellow, blue and green cables.
