I have fixed many polaroids, the problems is most of the parts are contained in one self contained control box. it sounds like your power board is not funtioning. contact polaroid and let them know about your problem and see if you can get a new control panel. the contol panel only has one connection and 3 screws to replace. hope this helps.

Hello Check the backlight inverter board to your TV. This is a common fault for most of the LCD TVs. If it is faulty, the backlight won't light up, resulting a balck screen with sound. This is the picture of the backlight inverter board to your TV. OK.
I also had blown capacitors on my power supply. You can see when they're bad: the tops split or bubble up like a dome. I changed most of the caps, just to be sure, and it fixed the problem. Careful of the larger capacitors. They stay powered for some time and can shock you pretty badly. Good Luck
The problem is the power supply of your television. The power supply have abnormal voltage supply output cause of leaked capacitor. The leak capacitor have bulging tops, so that you can identify the leak capacitor. Just remove the cover and find the power supply and replace new capacitor with same polarity.Hope it will help you.Thanks..
do you have the red light or blue, if red and don't come on then the problem is in your power supply, sometimes you can take back plate off and see the bulging caps and change and get set back running.
The most likely the TV has a power supply related problem or it maybe just a blown fuse inside the TV.
I can't say it's 100% the problem because I can't actually look at the tv over the internet. If by some chance the TV is still under warranty, go that route.
If not under warranty and If you have some electronic experience, you can purchase a Service Manual over the internet and diagnose the source of the problem and fix it by soldering in the new part. The Service Manual will give you circuit diagrams, test points, and part# lists. Usually, cost under $20.
Is there any way to repair the existing control box?
