1-800-554-3988 or check local for a marine/radio (ask the local PD or Fire who repairs their radios) repair shop. The ACC cable from the back has wire colors orange(+) and black(-) for external speaker wire connections. Connect a 8 ohm speaker to eliminate the internal speaker gone bad. Have a nice day.
I realize this question has been here forever, but I've included the link to the Owner's Manual in case anyone requires it. Page 5 shows which wires go to/from external equipment. Orange (+) and the small black (-) are for your external speaker. Green is + for gps data in while the brown is GPS ground. Yellow is not used.
The same thing happened to me, and I'm just hitting the two-year mark
with this thing. I tested it using the aux speaker leads and that still
works. So it is only the little front-panel speaker that is broken. And
I checked the leads on that little speaker, and they seem fine. So it
is the little speaker itself that broke. Easiest repair is to connect
the aux leads (red and brown) to another speaker.
Uniden Sells the Mic/Face assembly. Which is the faceplate with the microphone wired in. Runs about $30.00 the part number is BMKYSOLDSC - Mic Assembly For Solara DSC
The Uniden Solara is a MARINE RADIO not a CB. Marine (boat) radios
operate in the VHF-Hi range and CB is in the VHF-Lo range. You also
need a license to operate a marine radio, or you can identify yourself
with the name of your boat but you MUST be in the water.
you need to wire up the speaker to the orange and black wire. orange is speaker positive and black is speaker ground the other wires are as follows
thick black= dc ground
orange= external speaker positive
black= external speaker ground
green=gps data in
brown= gps ground
yellow= nc
