Part Number There are literally millions if not billions of different part numbers used by companies today. Because of the vast quantity of part numbers and the frequency of those numbers getting changed or referenced to other numbers, Computer Hope is unable to offer its customers with third-party part numbers.
If you are looking for a part number we recommend that you contact the computer company or the company responsible for supporting your product. You can find a listing of companies and their contact information on our company listing.
If the company responsible for your product is no longer in business we recommend the below.

  • If you do not have any numbers, but have the product or part you wish to replace, ensure that no numbers are listed on that part. If a number or name of company is listed on the product see the next section. However, if no number can be located we recommend you take the product to a local service center, repair shop, or the place of purchase for additional assistance.
  • If you are able to locate a number, attempt to search the Internet with a large search engine for that number. If you are unable to locate that number we recommend you take the product to a local service center, repair shop, or the place of purchase for additional assistance.
  • If you are only able to locate the name of the company who made the product, attempt to contact that company directly to see if they can provide you with a replacement. See our company listing for contact information.
Also see: Part Number (PN) Computer Hope dictionary definition.
Manual suggest you visit the manufacturer of your product web page.

Also see: Manual Computer Hope dictionary definition

Serial Numbers Unfortunately, with the billions of different serial numbers and manufacturer numbers, contact the manufacturer of the product or look for information about the product on Computer Hope by searching by the manufacturer or type of device name. For example, instead of searching for "Serial Number 12345" it may be easier to search for "Maxtor hard drive".
If you are looking for a serial number for a particular software program you will need to contact the software developer or producer of the software program; Computer Hope will not provide any type of serial numbers or other registration numbers to any users. See our underground section for additional information to why Computer Hope does not provide this information.
Finally, a serial number for a hardware device such as a computer or printer can almost always be found on the bottom or back of the device. If you're trying to find the serial number for one of these devices try physically examining the device. If you're still having issues locating it the contact the manufacturer .
Missing or lost CD, disk, or install file If you've lost one or more of your installation CD's or diskettes you must contact the developer of that program to obtain a new copy. Computer Hope cannot send anyone copies of the disks or downloadable files over the Internet of the program regardless if you have purchased the program.

SOURCE: I put a motherboard in my pc and i dont know where

http://eu.shuttle.com/archive/en/prod/mb/big/av49vn.jpg

ok man on this picture in the bottom of the pic there will be a sort of black rectangle with nine pins, 5 on bottom, four on top. This is where all your POWER SW,RESET SW,HDD LED,POWER LED will be plugged in. I could not find instructions for your board but for mine it is

Looking at the pins from the side where there are 5 pins on the bottom and 4 on top. The top two sould be the power led the two next to that should be the power switch, the bottom two to the left should be the hard drive led and the two next to that should be reset.

This is not the guaranteed position seeing as we have two completely different models.

Hope this helps.

I have installed a new motherboard in an acer case. The power cable from the switch on the front of the case will not connect to the board. Can anyone help? Thank you

You should read the motherboard manual, for cabling:
1. Power SW
2. Reset SW
3. HDD led
4. Power led - and power led +
5. Speaker

Cabling scheme, also written on the motherboard.

If the Power SW not installed the switch on does not work.
If the Reset SW not installed the switch reset does not work
If the HDD led
not installed the hard drive light (red) is not lit
If the Power led (+/-) not installed the power light (yellow) is not lit
If the Speakers are not installed, when the computer is on the beep sound is not heard.

I hope this information helps.

Hi ,, i have just fitted a intel d845gvsrb in my pc but i am not sure where the tower speaker wire , reset sw , power sw , power led , h h d led and the black single one go`s can you please help me ..

The Picture below shows you the locations of the places to put those wires are in relation to your motherboard. In yellow is the power switch and such. and the audio connection is in red.
avatar23454_9.jpg

The Pin layout for the power and other connector are as follows:
avatar23454_10.jpg

the layout for the audio header is as follows: avatar23454_8.jpg

To install the cable that connects a front panel audio solution to the front panel audio header, follow these steps:
  1. Turn off all peripheral devices connected to the computer. Turn off the computer and disconnect the AC power cord.
  2. Locate the front panel audio header (J8A1).
  3. Remove the three jumpers from the header (this disables the back panel audio connectors).
  4. Install a correctly keyed and shielded front panel audio cable.
  5. Connect the audio cable to the front panel audio solution.

To restore back panel operations follow these steps:
1. Remove the front panel audio cable. 2. Install a jumper on pins 5-6 (rear R channel). 3. Install a jumper on pins 9-10 (rear L channel). 4. Install a jumper on pins 1-2 (mic). 5. Replace the cover.

1 out 50 times I turn on my Dell Dimension E520 there is no signal to the monitor. I have tried to install a new PCI express card instead of using the integrated graphics but the result was the same e.i no...

The problem is the Power Supply. Weak voltage power rail.

You've taken the right steps with your diagnosis.

1) Start with the monitor cable. If removable use a known to be good monitor cable.
Checks okay, go onto the graphics 'engine' of the computer.

If the monitor cable is not removable, use another monitor, and cable for a test.

2) If you are presently using Integrated Graphics the next step in diagnosing is to install a graphics card.
See if the problem is the Integrated Graphics 'engine'.

[ Just to add:
Intel GM X3100 is the graphics 'engine'. It is integrated into the Northbridge chip of the motherboard chipset.

Intel G965 chipset is the motherboard chipset. The Intel ID number on the Northbridge chip is 82G965.
The Southbridge chip is an Intel ICH8, or ICH8R, or ICH8-DH,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_intel_chipsets#Core_2_Chipsets

{Chip and Chipset are slang terms for I.C.
Integrated Circuit,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intergrated_Circuit }

The Northbridge chip handles the Processor, Ram Memory, and HIGH-speed graphics.
AGP and PCI Express are High-speed graphics.

A graphics card in a PCI slot is not High-speed graphics.

The Southbridge chip handles the slower capabilities of a computer.
PCI and Integrated Graphics being two of the slower capabilities.
SATA, IDE, USB, and Ethernet, are also some of the slower capabilities of a computer,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Motherboard_diagram.svg

CPU = Central Processing Unit. Another name used is Microprocessor, or Processor for short ]

3) Power Supply.
Weak voltage power rail.

The Power Supply has enough power to light LED lights, and maybe spin fans, but Not enough power to turn the Processor on.

A) ALL the LED lights on at once will consume less than 1 Watt of power.

B) EACH fan consumes 2 to 3 Watts of power.

C) A typical Processor can consume (Maximum) 51 to 125 Watts of power.
Depends on what Processor it is.

The Dell Dimension E521 desktop computer's motherboard, has an LGA 775 processor socket.
(Processor has the socket holes, processor socket has the pins)

The Intel processors that can be used in this processor socket, can be an Intel Pentium 4, (Version that uses an LGA 775 processor socket), Intel Pentium D, or Intel Core2 Duo, AND Intel Core 2 Quad, with a maximum FSB of 1066MHz. (If the BIOS version will support Intel Core2 Quad processors)
{Front Side Bus of 1066Megahertz}

Wattage consumption can be as much as 105 Watts.

Do you have a KNOWN to be good, compatible Power Supply available, to use as a test unit?

{Compatible being that the Power Supply case fits, (ATX), has the right amount of power cables, and the correct power cables. (Needs to have a 24-pin ATX main power cable, and a 4-pin ATX +12 Volt power cable, for one)

Perhaps there is an unused computer that has a Power Supply you can borrow.
Maybe someone has upgraded to a better computer, and has an unused one with a compatible power supply for a test unit.

Very briefly touch a metal-tip screwdriver between these 2 pins.
If the computer powers-on, you've found the "power" connector.

Number codes for giving connections to HDD led,Power led, Reset SW & Power SW to motherboard

Those are really tricky and always vary from motherboard to motherboard.
without the exact model no one will be able to tell you exactly. But I'd recommend that you start out with the power (pw) plug and try trial and error. The only ones really necessary are the pw and reset. the only 2 that are polarity sensitive are the HDD light and pw led.
