I have a konica Minolta Magicolor 2530DL and I just refilled the toner and now I cant get the new chips to read. I want to know if there is a way of disabling the chip so I can print. I know I have enough toner and I will know when I run out I dont need a chip to tell me.

The toner cartridge has a chip that calculates the estimated usage of the toner and once it reaches it's capacity (per estimation), it will not print. The only thing you can do is to buy a new cartridge or buy refill toner that comes with a reset chip.

Most likely reason is the printer is either a display model, or previously been sold and returned. The toner cartridges are usually sealed and these seals need to be removed prior to use. I would recommend returning to the supplier and asking for a new one, with the toner cartridges sealed. Once toner has been spilt, it is very difficult to remove all traces. A standard vacuum cleaner may be suitable to remove the worst.

Firstly buy a black toner refill and a "CHIP". The chip is a small printed circuit carrying a chip, mounted on the top right hand corner of the toner cartridge held in by a small cross point screw. Remove the cartridge and looking at the right end you will see a round (About 3/4 inch dia) plastic bung. Lift this bung out and carefully refill the cartridge (The refill supplier will probably clarify this I am saying). Replace the bung, clean up all the messy dust and remove the old chip replacing it with the new one. Make sure you dont lose the little screw and insert it fully without over turning it. Thereafter all should be OK.

Clean toner chip reader, remove OPC drum and all toners, under the toner rack there is a 3 pin chip reader, use pressure air to clean it.

Open the Front Cover and remove the OPC drum cartridge by pulling up from the green lever. I'm sure you'll find all these instructions on the box the new drum is comming.

Take the cartridge to Cartridge World they will fix the issue they have fixed it for me in the past. They really know what they are doing just bring the cartridge to them and they will help you

Go to "Tonerfillyourself.com" I bought refill toner and it includes a new chip and it's not hard to replace it. (Comes with instructions)

Take out the chip reading contacts and cleant it with alcohol and air then put it back, shuld work. Toners are originals or refilled ?
