The microwave turns on but won't heat up food
Test the high voltage capacitor, the rectifier diode.or the magnetron.
If it additionally does not spin and no light, then check also the door switch.
The diode and capacitors can br tested. The capacitor must be alloweddischarge before testing, or you risk to get electrocuted, even ifpower is off. Capacitors can get discharged by shorting their twocontacts.
Replace the magnetron if the checks and all of the high voltage component tests are good, but the unit still does not heat.

Parts must be tested to find out what is wrong.
Remember that microwaves are potentially dangerous devices if not repaired properly, the job must be done by a competent person.
A microwave energy leakage test must always be performed when the oven is serviced for any reason.

If your current microwave is under warranty, pursue that route first. Otherwise, simply replace the non-functional unit with a new one including a warranty. At the time of this writing, Lowes has 1.7cuft Stainless units under $160. Take your old one down and reinstall a new one in an hour and be done with it.

Many Samsung Microwaves have a demonstartion mode retailers use to demonstrate the unit. It allows the unit to function but not heat. The demonstration mode can be turned on and off by holding the 0 while pressing the 1 to turn the demontation mode off and on. This happened to my mother's SMH9187W over the range during cleaning. It is where I would check first before troubleshooting electrical components.

Microwave ovens that do not heat, and failed as you have described, have 1 or more of the following failed components, in order of cost -
1) Fuse
2) Diode
3) Capacitor
4) Transformer
5) Magnetron
4 and 5 are interchangeable when it comes to cost.
Try replacing 1 and 2, then 3, then it's decision time of whether to buy parts or replace the microwave.

Chances are you have a bad connection, maybe the cook relay or at the magnetron, but feel free to write back with details when it fails again.

My Whirlpool microwave, over the stove, stopped working when my son used it to heat his food and a heavy sound came out, like something exploded in it. When I check it, there was nothing broke. Everything works fine except that it does not heat. I will appreciate any help

Assuming your inside light and
turntable come on when you try to microwave, with the symptoms you have,
I would most strongly suspect a bad magnetron or a loose and possibly
corroded connection on the magnetron's terminal.
If
you or someone you know decide to look into it, we have critical safety
information and disassembly information at our site, and our link is at
our listing here on FixYa.
At our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.
Here are some links you or someone you know can use for test help, but read their safety warnings first:
