Chander , i liked you because described well your problem. i think can advice better, look i think when your device fall down maybe is affected in external antena or internal antena of device which keep a network, so try to assembly and ressembly the device and look if external antena is not damaged, otherwise problem is with PA (circuit who control network) in this case you need you give some rapairer to make jump or change it, in this 2nd cenario it will cost you. i think this will help you.

I have a 276c garmin, use it off road, in the forest I lose reception, in open area I do not. My buddies have the garmin 60 series and they do not lose reception in the forest. Any suggestions? Thank...

Try using an external antena, these are availble from Garmin, all you do is remove the existing arial and plug the lead from the external antena in. Then mount the external antena on your roof.

We have no signal recieved from our sky satallite

I don't recall if that phone had an external antena but you should check if it is well mounted,if it is not dammaged, rusty and if it had an internal one check for no oily stuff inside. If the antena is not the problem try contacting your operator and ask them if they suport such conectivity since direct satelite connection is expensive!

Trying to install channels on goodmans ld1962d. Not sure what active antenna is. No channels are found when we have aerial in or out.

check for antena cable plug condition, normaly 80% of low quality of antena signal, is conection on antena plug (inside)

1st open antena plug, check for condition/connection of cable.
2nd check for each part of cable well connected, and no wires crossed on middle cable
3rd check same to the other end of cable.
4rd check the signal on diferent tvs around house (if available)

if this general you dont have aerial signal in your house, check for your TV provider (cable) to test your arial signal.(Normaly this maybe a cable broken outside house).

My tv has a different tv out where the antena is connected. Antena tv has a kind of like a screw at one end and at the other end is the antena. All tv has the right connection for the antena but my daewoo...

it sounds like either:
-the tv was intended for a foreign market.
-the tv does not have a tuner (it is just a monitor)

the connector on the antenna is an "f" connector.

if the connectors on the tv are "rca" then it is probably just a monitor - and needs an external tuner (ie dedicated tuner, cable box, tivo, vcr, etc)

if the connector on the tv is a "bnc" then the tv may be meant for the european market, and probably can not tune channels in the us.

see wikipedia.org for images of bnc and rca connectors.

you can certainly get an adapter from/to any of those connector types, but i think that alone is unlikely that will solve the problem. check or find the manual for the tv - be sure it actually has a tuner compatible with the signals you want to receive..

Cut/splice GPS Extrenal Antena

There is no way to splice a coax cable that is satisfactory. It is best to replace the cable. Be safe not sorry.

My nuvi 350 won't acquire satellites

It took about 45minutes of holding on Garmin's tech support line but when I finally got through here's what they'll ask you.

1) Have you tried a hard reset?
-Just push the reset button on the back below the GPS antena
2) Have you updated the software to the most current version?
-Run the Garmin web update utility after you've connected your GPS receiver to your PC via USB. Update the software (current version 5.6) and the GPS Chipset Software (current version 3.0)
3) Have you tried a master reset?
-WARNING THIS COULD ERASE YOUR ENTIRE FAVORITES SECTION. But you turn off the GPS push on the top right hand corner of the screen while you power up the unit and it will ask you if you want to perform a master reset.
After you've done all this (and you can save yourself some time by just doing it before you call) they'll tell you its probabbly a diode in the unit that controls the antena. See that little gold looking hole in the GPS antena? That's where you can connect the external antena the diode the controls where the unit gets its satellite signals from (IE from internal or external antena) is known to mess up if the unit is left in extreme heat (a hot car would do it) however aparently since this is such a common problem Garmin is accepting RMA's for the units even if their several weeks out of warentee (mine was and i just sent it off for this very same reason). More often than not they'll simply replace the unit with a refab and you'll be back in bussiness in no time. Hope this helps!
