I'm having a great deal of problems with my Philips Senseo. When I don't put any coffee pads or coffee duck with coffee grounds in it, it works fine, but as soon as I add those the machine stops after pushing through a small quantity of water. It doesn't stop with the led flashing or still being on, but rather turns off, as if the power went off. I assured myself it's tank is filled with water. Anything I can do? I read somewhere it might be an internal pressure problem, so I figured I could empty it's pump according to the manual instructions, but it didn't work either. I'm not sure I can call the Philips helpline since the Senseo is not directly available in my country. It was given as a gift from a relative that's living in Germany. Thanks in advance for any help. Also I've cleaned it recently with citric acid (as the manual indicates) so this might have caused it, though I very much doubt so.
This lookes like a problem I experienced with another model of the Senseo. The problem here was the 470nF X-capacitor in the capacitive power supply. (230VAC models) Try replacing.

you are correct in thinking the problem is caused by the valve. Use a magnet to connect to the valve from the outside of the machine, slide the magnet very slowly upwards along the water level, the rapid flashing should stop and the water should begin to heat, if not try again as you have not connected the valve to the magnet

Either the little magnet in the reservoir is stuck (does it float when you slowly fill up the reservoir?), or the corresponding Reed relais doesn't properly respond to the magnets presence. The latter most likely requires technical attention.
