I a 2007 JVC LCD HDTV and when I turn it on it is dark on the right side with a little red light mixed in...... if i let it run for about 20 minutes, the picture goes back to normal and it is clear. Starting to take longer for clear screen now though. I was hoping it would just be a bulb that i can change?

I am guessing the CCFL tube is starting to burn out. Replacing is not impossible but somewhat delicate process.

Since the TV is that old i would recommend you to buy new TV instead when it goes completely dead.

SOURCE: JVC LCD TV LT-42X688-powers on, blank screen. no picture,no sound

You most definately have bad capacitors in the power supply. try and get it repaired as soon as possible, not an expensive repair that iv'e seen.

SOURCE: Sound stays on, but no picture- goes black and stays that way.

This unit should still be under warranty and should be taken in for warranty service. Any attempt to access the interior will void the warranty. It is important that a complete description of the problem like you entered here be taken along when you bring the set in for service. This will insure that the servicer be able to reproduce the problem and resolve it.

From your description (and as a servicer), I would be looking for a component that is heat sensitive. These types of problems are fairly easy to locate and resolve.

Please take this in for warranty service and update this when you find out the details.

Thanks,
Dan

SOURCE: JVC LT-37E488 no picture, clear sound. Turn it on

You will need to do in-depth troubleshooting, please read below:
First, look at the screen in darkened room to see if you can see any slight glow from the screen, if it does, then the problem can be the T-CON (not getting the 12vdc) or the main logic board not feeding the signals to the T-CON board.
if not, next place to check will be the power supply module, make sure it has 24vdc which is required by the backlight inverter to work, the reason for not having 24vdc can be from bad DC filter caps (leaking/bulging top, high ESR) or short circuits in the inverter board which will cause the 24vdc supply to go into shutdown mode, so you may have to disconnect the power cable that feed the inverter board to see if the 24vdc will work without the inverter board hookup, you will need to apply about 3~4 amp of load to the 24vdc to make sure it can handle that. There are fuses on the backlight inverter boards also. So there is some troubleshooting you will have to do to find out the causes of the problem you are having.

My 47" phillips 1080p lcd tv has gone dark on the left side

Do some research for parts by the model number--if its a LCD it likely has a inverter that drives the brightness to each side of the screen---either right is bad or possible problem with the actual display panel.

TV screen went dark, but sound still there.

your backlight burnt out, this will be a maybe several hundred dollar repair. the screen is backilt by a very expensive flourescent light, without that light, the screen will be black.
