Phone won't charge or turn on

My LG Shine won't charge or turn on. I plugged it in last night and saw it begin to charge then went to bed. When I woke up it looked as if it was dead so I tried to turn it on but nothing happened. The phone wasn't touched from the time that I plugged it in to the time I woke up and it was "dead." I've never had a problem like this. Do you have any idea what I can do?? Last weekend i got my new inq mobile phone. It has worked fine up until now, i charged it all last night and it worked for a short period then turned off and wont turn back off and wont charge, whats wrong with it?
