Try these: - turn off the printer. unplug the power adapter for 1-2 minutes - lift the printer upside down and shake it sideways (strange huh?... usually, this helps because it can re-align those things that may not be aligned right inside the printer) - then, adjust the paper guides and use about 10-15 pieces of paper. try using the printer. if it's still the same... it really is the printer. - if it's still under warranty, Dell can replace it. If it works like the 1700n (I think it does), if you press Continue twice it should light up different lights as a secondary error code. It should tell you close to where it thinks the paper jam is. Check the sensors there, clean them, whatever. If you have a spare printer, or another one, you may try switching out the sensor (takes some tearing apart of the printer) and see if that fixes it.

Open the tray and cover. Look out for any paper inside the cover.
Close the cover and tray firmly. Then check for a test page.

you have take the ink cantainer out and disconect the printer for one min then reconnect

I believe there is paper jammed in your printer. check the top cover check for the paper jammed.if no, open the cartridge door and remove the cartridge. check for any paper inside or try to replace new toner cartridge.
What this light sequence means that the printer has a paper jam.

How to clear Paper Jam

To get the secondary error codes
?· When the Error light (!) and Continue button lights are both on, a secondary error has occurred.
?· When the Paper Jam light (4th light) and Continue button lights are both on, a paper jam secondary error has occurred.
?· Press and release Continue button twice quickly to display the secondary error code light sequence.
Press Continue button to resume printing once all the jammed pages are cleared from the paper path.
We recommend that you clear the entire paper path when a paper jam occurs.
To clear a paper jam:
1 If you are feeding paper from a tray, remove the tray, and then remove any jams.
2 Open the front cover and remove the print cartridge assembly.
NOTE: Do not leave the print cartridge assembly exposed to direct light for an Extended period of time. Extended light exposure can cause print quality problems.
3 Remove any jams in the area behind the print cartridge assembly.
4 Lift the flap at the front of the printer and remove any jams beneath the flap.
5 Open the rear exit and remove any jams.
6 After you have cleared the jams, reinstall the print cartridge assembly, make sure all printer covers and trays are closed, and then press Continue button to resume printing.
NOTE: The printer reprints the pages that caused the paper jam.
