I have a mitsubishi 55 inch rear projection big screen tv model number vs-55601. When I turn it on, it makes the clicking sound, the green light comes on but it shuts off after one second or so. It will not stay on. Can someone please help us with any input or info on how to solve this problem. Please email me at [email protected]

They are not BULBS by any stretch of the imagination. They are CRTs (Cathode Ray Tubes, also known as "picture tubes," and each of them are small television screens, in essence), which are optically enlarged for projection onto the back of the front screen. Don't be tempted to think that you will merely be able to replace a "bulb" and have everything work!
Although you will be able to replace all of the components on the PC board if necessary (they all remain available), and may be able to fix the coolant leak that caused the failure, the CRT may have overheated. Considering the advanced age of the television, the tubes are likely already somewhat burned-in. Best to just dispose of the set.

you may have a bad colorwheel or its possible the flyback is going out on the tv itself.either way you will eventually lose the whole picture
SOURCE: How do I deguassa VS-55601
Many manufacturers put a software degause feature in the main menu. There should be an option for deguassing, I am not a hundred percent on this model but if you look in your operations manual it will tell you if this option is available. If not you can purchase a deguaser at a local electronics supplier. It is basically a round donut shaped electro magnet use caution and follow the instructions. Remember in the future to always keep external speakers away from your TV sets..
