My son bought an Emerson Research Smart Set Alarm Clock Radio with an iPod dock, Model ic200BX. Whn you first plug it in it is supposed to initially set the time and date. The problem we are having is that it keeps recycling and never stops. The lithium battery is dead. Alos, because it does this the rest of the set in unusable. Any ideas?
Thanks
Tom
You should take this Clock/Radio back for a refund or exchange. If that is not possible, try taking the battery out and unplug the Clock/Radio. Leave it set for at least an hour with no power. This will let the microprocessor discharge and reset itself. You also need to replace the battery. It is a CR2430. You can find them in most large electronic stores, large drugstores and supermarkets. Fry's electronics and Radio shack carry them. You can also buy them on line. After letting the Clock/Radio discharge for at least a hour, put the battery back in and plug it in. The functions should return to normal. If not you may have a more serious problem with the microprocessor. You can call Emerson customer support at this telephone number 1-800-898-9020 and ask them for help with the problem. I hope this information help you with your problem.

One thing to note, if you ever have to change the lithium backup battery for the Smartset clocks, it will revert back to it's factory defaults and you'll have to go through his all over again.
