I have tried opening my yahoo mail with Firefox and I keep getting error code 6. When I open it with IE it opens no problem. I recently downloaded the ABP add on from Firefox and that is when I noticed it wouldn't work at all. I wanted to get rid of that Chat and Text message box because when I signed in to yahoo it told me that Chat was being ended because of being in another account. I have never used that Chat box as I don't care for it at all. Could this be a virus or did I get hacked through that Chat box?

Most of the time, the internet browser is the problem when a page won't load up. If you're accessing your Yahoo! Mail everyday, there will come a time that your browser will be filled out with cookies and cache.
However, you must try to isolate first, to make sure that the problem is the browser and not the Yahoo! Mail sign in page. Here are the things that you may try:
1. Try to use different internet browser and access your Yahoo! Mail. If the sign in page loads up, then it's the browser.
2. Try to access the Yahoo! Mail in a different computer that is connected to a different network.
If the problem is only happening in one browser, then it's the browser. You may try to clear the cookies and cache. Here's how:
* For Internet Explorer - Open your IE > Tools > Internet Options - Click the "Delete" button under the browsing history. - Select cookies, internet files, etc. - Select "Delete All". - Close and re-open your IE. - Try to access your Yahoo! Mail.
* For Mozilla Firefox - Open Firefox > Tools > Clear Recent History. - Select cookies, cache, browsing and download, etc. - Click on "Clear Now" - Close and re-open your Firefox - Try to access your Yahoo! Mail.
If you can get to the internet, but Yahoo is not opening, then try to clear the cookies, cache, and internet files of your internet browser. Here's how:
* For Internet Explorer version 6 1. Open IE6 > Tools > Internet Options. 2. Click the Delete Cookies button and Delete History. 3. Click on OK > Close and re-open your IE6. 4. Try accessing yahoo.com.
* For Internet Explorer version 7 1. Open IE7 > Tools > Internet Options. 2. Click the "Delete" button under the Browsing History option. 3. Delete the Cookies, Internet Files 4. Click on OK > Close and re-open IE7 5. Try accessing yahoo.com.
* For Mozilla FireFox 1. Open Firefox > Tools 2. Select "Clear Recent History" 3. Select Cookies, Cache, Browsing and Download History. 4. Close and re-open Firefox 5. Access yahoo.com.
If this problem never happened before, you may try optimizing your Internet browser by clearing the Cookies, History and Internet Files. To do this, please follow the steps below:
* For Internet Explorer: 1. Run IE > Tools > Internet Options. 2. Locate the Browsing History portion and click the Delete button. 3. Delete the Cookies, Temporary Internet Files and History 4. Click on OK > close the IE. 5. Re-open IE > try accessing your Yahoo e-mail again.
* For Mozilla Firefox: 1. Run Firefox > Tools > Clear Recent History... 2. Click the drop-down arrow > select 'Everything' 3. Click on 'Clear Now' > close the Firefox. 4. Re-open Firefox > access your Yahoo mail.
