LG Express Cool Turbo GR T542G Stopped cooling

LG Express Cool Turbo GR T542G Stopped cooling down all lights working but not keeping cold. I took back off freezer and left off overnight turned back on and pipes were cooling but the fan is not working. Should it automatically come on or will it kick in at a certain temp reached??

It should run when the comp is on and the unit is calling for cooling, you most likely need a new fan for your unit.

SOURCE: hot areas around doors on LG fridge

This is usually caused by a dirty condenser coil or a stalled condenser fan.
Remove the cover from the rear of the fridge and see if the fan is running. If not, make sure nothing is stuck in the blades keeping it from turning. If it turns freely you probably need a new fan motor but you would need to check the voltage to be sure.

SOURCE: GE GSS22 refrig wont get cold, freezer does.

Hi, it's possible you have a defrost problem, to know if you have a defrost problem, you should unplug/disconnect refrigerator, remove your produce, leave doors open, for faster defrost, clean and leave unplug/disconnected for about hour, be cautious you will get excessive water from defrosting. let freezer defrost completely, then plug/connect refrigerator, let it work/run for an hour, if it's o/k, put back your produce, if it work good/ o/k for 3 to 4 days and start doing the same thing, you got a defrost problem, defrost problems are caused when excessive ice build up on your evaporator, two things could cause a defrost problem. (1) excessive moisture/ hot air entering refrigerator, hot days, hot foods, regular opening, to close heat source, range/ oven. in cases like that, cleaning of refrigerator will normally solve that problem. (2) faulty defrost heaters, defrost thermostat , located in back of freezer side, you will have to remove shelves and back panel, to get access to it,also check your defrost timer and speed of fan, but first disconnect refrigerator, clean and try , before changing any parts. it could just be excessive moisture. always remember to disconnect your refrigerator before attempting any repairs, let me know what happened, then i could tell you exactly what's problem. good luck

SOURCE: freezer works fine, fridge cool not cold.

if the freezer is freezing and the fan working in the freezer and the fan at the compressor is working and you have no frost build up on the back wall of the freezer caused from a defrost problem -then turn your controls back to the middle. one of the controls is a thermostat control and the other control is merely an air diverter from the freezer to the refrigerator. if you close this diverter down too much (by putting it on 9)it will leave most of the air in the freezer.

bottom line if the freezer is working properly and freezing good all the time then the refrigerator should be ok as well unless you have diverted most air to the freezer. allow 24 hours after you have changed the settings.

you can feel air blowing in the back of the refrigerator at the top next to the freezer and can adjust the diverter control and feel the difference it makes. most of the time the control you use is labeled freezer and if you put both controls on 9 then your freezer will be the coldest but the refrigerator won't get as much air. the thermostat control can be left at 5 or higher (this is the control that turns the refrigerator off) but leave the other control at 5

if this doesn't work you have probably got problems with your freezer also and may not know it yet.

I have a LG mod GR-S462GCA fridge not cooling turn it off for a day and works well for a couple of days then starts to not cool

NORMALLY WHEN THIS HAPPENS U EITHER HAVE A DOOR CONTINUALLY OPEN ISSUE OR A BAD DOOR SEAL LETTING AIR IN AND CAUSING FAN TO OVERWORK ITSELF. ANOTHER CAUSE CAN BE DIRTY COILS AND CONDENSER AND LASTLY NOT TO COMMON IS A SHORT IN THE FAN SYSTEM ITSELF. A MORE PROBABLE CAUSE COULD BE BAD THERMISTORS OR EVEN COLD CONTROL THERMOSTAT

Hi.My Name is dr.v.rusu and I have got my Fridgemaster MTRF242 silver,Refregerant:R600 a/52 g.The problems is that recently it stopped keep cool in the top compartiment,-but down freezer is in very go

Cold air from the freezer is used to cool the refrigerator section. There is an air passage between the freezer and the refrigerator. That passage is probably blocked by ice.
You will have to remove some covers inside to find and melt the ice.
