SOURCE: i have a whirlpool 6th sense awo3561/5 and it will

My husband fixed mine, it's simple remove the motor, both of the brushes are worn not making very good contact, clean the armature with fine sandpaper to make a good contact and replace the brushes if need. this worked for me. I hope this will help all the others with the same problem.

SOURCE: door light flashes......

It appears your timer/main controller/CCU has failed in this instance.

For replacement parts - head on over to PartSelect.com or RepairClinic.com and enter in your full model number for a full parts listing.
I recommend both sites because ...

FixYa has no affiliation with either site - I have been using and recommending them for years - trouble free.

PartSelect has a great schematic database for locating the part on your unit and great "testimonials" for each part that often times includes HOW-TO information.
RepairClinic has pictures of each part they sell and also a great how-to and troubleshooting for basic repairs.

If your unit has never been serviced - there should still be an original service manual enclosed in plastic taped to the inside of the shell.
In the service manual are Error codes, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting steps you can follow.

Anything too complicated or beyond your scope should be handled by a professional.

If you think you want to tackle the repair - and have gotten stuck on a step - reply to your question and I will be glad to help you out.

Thanks for using FixYa - a 4 THUMBS rating is appreciated for answering your FREE question

I have a Whirlpool 6th sense washing machine. When I turn it on as normal it is not taking in water and the 'Door Open' light flashes even though the door is firmly shut?

Hi
check if the door is closed because it is very sensitive closing mechanism for reasons of security so sometimes you see that the door is closed but in reality it is not closed well

I have the same problem. Look at the previous post, it seems to be the motor brush worn out. I've opened up the machine and checked. The carbon brush remains very little. I am trying to find out a replacement brush

The machine is not filling with water than it shows F09 and then FA on screen. Its a 6th sense and about 4 years old

Hi,

Error F09 means Overflow Condition

If the Overflow contact on the pressure switch is Closed for more than 60 seconds and Overflow condition will occur. In an Overflow condition, the Door will remain locked, and the Drain Pump will run constantly, even if PAUSE/CANCEL is pressed twice and the Display is cleared. Unplug the unit to service.

Thank You
