not sure what kind or car you have but if it has a factory trunk release does that still work?If so the button on the remote may be bad but it more likely your car might have a relay that turned the negative output of the alarm to a 12volt out. This relay might have gone bad with time. If it is a newer car and is using a bypass to work the trunk it may be a connection problem.
I am assuming that you want to disable the system temporarily by putting it in valet mode. You will need to locate the valet button; they are usually installed under the dash within reach of the driver. The button should be black and about 1/2" in diameter. Pressing and holding the button for 3 seconds while the alarm is disarmed will put the system into valet mode. The system will turn the LED light on steady and chirp the siren to indicate that valet mode has been activated. To exit valet mode, press and release the button. The LED will turn off and the siren will chirp to indicate that you have exited valet mode.
The included link is for the manual, see page 8. http://www.caralarm.com/manuals/K-9/K9-Mundial-ss.pdf
Your system may be in valet. Open any door, press lock button on transmitter, press aux, press lock again. If your alarm was in valet, it's now active, if it was active, it's now in valet. Hopefully, this was the issue and nothing is wrong with your siren.
You have to turn your ignition on and press the valet button switch, to turn off the alarm. Then, you have to use that same valet button to learn the remote to your alarm, following the steps in the installation manual.
the security system doesn't disable spark, it works by not letting the fuel pump run or not allowing the starter to work, but never does it affect spark or fire as you call it.
I have lost my Valet 561R Installation Manual - does anyone have a .pdf version to share?
