Error-C1 I was on holiday in dusty hot conditions when my second hand camara became unusable. I turned the camara on to take a photo and the zoom lens and shutter became stuck. The screen went blue and 'error-C1' appeared on the screen. Every time I turned it on thereafter the same blue screen came up and it makes a strange mechanical noise when I turn it on. It also turns itself off after a few seconds but the zoom still doesn't shut. The battery symbol still appeared but it appeared to be out of charge. So I assumed it had got stuck open because it had run out of battery. When I charged it, it made no difference.
