So you are saying that it starts and builds pressure and then shuts off, then when it comes back on again, there is no pressure? Sounds like the unloader valve is sticking open.

Titan 440 won’t stop building pressure. Just runs wide open and won’t shut off at right pressure. Any Ideas of what this might be?

Most likely your pressure cut-off switch is defective. Not as common but it happens that somehow your pressure switch has been turned way out of limits and could just need to be tightened down to within specs OR...

The following is a description of the control panel indicators.
Motor Running Indicator,
RAPID CLEAN,
Pressure Indicator
The pressure indicator shows the current operating pressure of the sprayer. It has three different indications: blinking yellow, solid yellow, and solid green.

Blinking yellow: When the pressure indicator is blinking yellow, the sprayer is operating between 0 and 200 PSI. A blinking yellow pressure indicator means:
• The sprayer is plugged in and turned "ON"
• The sprayer is at priming pressure (little or no pressure)
• It is safe to move the PRIME/SPRAY valve between positions• It is safe to change or replace the spray tip.
NOTE: If the pressure indicator begins blinking yellow when the pressure control knob is set at a higher pressure and the Prime/Spray valve is in the Spray position, either the spray tip is worn or the sprayer is in need of service/repair.

Solid Yellow: When the pressure indicator is solid yellow, the sprayer is operating between 201 and 1900 PSI. A solid yellow pressure indicator means:
• The sprayer is at the proper pressure setting for spraying stain, lacquer, varnish, and multi-colors
• If the pressure indicator goes to solid yellow when the pressure is set so that it starts at solid green, it indicates one of the following:
a.Tip wear Indicator — when spraying with latex
or at high pressure the solid yellow appears.
This means the tip is worn and needs to be
replaced.

b.Tip Too Large — when a tip that is too large
for the sprayer is putin the gun, the pressure
indicator will turn from solid green to solid
yellow.

c.Fluid Section wear — if a solid yellow
pressure indicator appears when using a new tip
and the pressure is set at maximum, service may
be required (worn packings, worn piston, stuck
valve, etc...).

Solid Green: When the pressure indicator is solid green, the sprayer is operating between 1901 and 3300 PSI. A solid green pressure indicator means:
• The sprayer is at the proper pressure setting for spraying oil-based and latex house paints
• The sprayer is operating at peak performance at a high pressure setting.

Motor Running Indicator: The Motor Running indicator is on when the motor is commanded to run. This indicator is used by service centers to troubleshoot motor.

Using the last ppg. about the "Motor Running Indicator"... if it is showing it then it is in the commanded mode to run continually. switch that dude to off command!

I have a 2004 land rover freelander and it cut off after fitting in injector now it just cranks and won"t start

If the injector you fitted is faulty..it wont build fuel pressure and start.Have an injector leak off test done to identify if injector(s) are faulty or not. Also check the low pressure pump underneath drivers rear behind wheel...will often jam before failing...if it dont run with ignition on / cranking...give it a little tap.

Cf2600 won't build pure pressure. Could air intake be stopped up. Had dirt dobber stop up on older compressor. Where is air intake. Can't locate.

No there is not a filter. Since the pump is enclosed in the plastic covers there would not be a way to service it. Now if it is not building any pressure then it could be a few things. First would be the drive belt. (item 125) If it breaks then it won't pump at all. Also if the air hose that exits the pump (item 122) gets a hole in it then it won't fill the tank. A worn head valve plate (item 106), blown gasket (item 105), or a worn piston and sleeve (items 109 and 112-2) can also cause this. If the check valve into the tank (item 16) gets stuck open it too will limit how much the compressor will pump BUT usually it will build up some pressure then just keep running without building any higher pressure into the tank.

Here is a parts diagram so you can see where the belt and other parts are located plus it contains all of the part numbers.

My jet pump has a 20 - 40 pressure switch but won't give any more than 30 psi. Whats wrong?

There are several causes for this to occur.
1. If it is a 20-40 switch right out of the box it may not be set correctly. I have had this happen. If it builds to 30psi and shuts right off without straining to build to 40psi adjust the Cut-Out pressure up to 40psi. There are two different adjustments on a well switch. One for Cut In / Cut Out psi and one for Cut Out psi.
2. Lack of head pressure being built by the pump can be the cause. This can be attributed to the wrong Jetting in the pump. IE: A shallow well jet/venturi on a deep well.
3. The pump may have a bad impeller, but the pump will generally really strain to build pressure and a bad impeller will be loud, like grinding at times.
4. Double check the pre-set pressure in bladder tank also.

EC-12 runs but only builds to 35 psi and continues to run

It looks like there might be a knob which sets the max air pressure coming from the compressor. If there is one, this may have been turned down.

There are usually 3 pressure settings on an electric compressor. Compressor max, pressure switch cut on, and pressure switch cut off.
