Fridge not cold but freezer working great

I have a Haier Model HTQ18JABWW-02 the freezer is working great but the fridge is not cold. Temp is running around 50 degrees. I found that there was ice keeping the cold air from getting to the fridge. I turned off the fridge and let it melt and it was working for about 2 weeks. Now it is doing the same thing. What do I do??

I had the same problem, and it turned out to be a cooked fan motor.
I couldn't find a reasonable (less than $150) replacement motor from Haier places, but I just took the motor out and took it to an appliance repair center (in North Denver)
They said it was a standard part, charged me around $22 for a new one and I was all set.

For my replacement motor, it was a reversible design, and was initially set to go the wrong way, so I had to reverse it.

I have a haier model # htq18jabww-01 and the freezer seems to b working fine but the fridge does not seem to be cold at all...any soultions??

The "Cold-to-Coldest" adjuster in the freezer steals chilled air from the refrigerator to add more to the freezer. It's a mechanical damper. Set it fully CCW to cold (warmest position). I also put duck tape over half the chilled air outlets in the freezer to increase the chilled air pressure feeding the refrigerator section. Set the thermostat in the refrigerator to 8 or 9 and the freezer works fine and everything in the refrigerator is 38F.

Haier frig., model HNSE05, continues to cool till all contents are frozen. Can not reduce temperature to aceptable levels.

Hi,there

Most times this is a bad cold control, but there are other things to check for. Make sure the condenser fan is working and the coils are not covered with dust. A separated heat exchanger ( small capillary tubing soldered to the large suction line ) can separate from one another and make the fridge run too long. - tape tubing back together. A poor working evaporator fan motor could also make the fridge run too long and freeze - replace the fan motor. An inefficient compressor or refrigeration system could make the fridge run too long and freeze - have a service tech check this out. A misaligned control settings, make sure the air damper and cold control have not been bumped and are out of normal settings. Stuck open air diffusers or air dampers are becoming more and more common for allowing too much air to be blown into the fresh food section and freezing things. On all frost free fridge's the freezer temp air is blown into the fresh food section, if you have "easy" to freeze items ( eggs, veggies in water, etc ) in front of or under where the freezer temp air comes out, they could freeze - store them in a different spot. Doors not closing properly making the fridge run too long is something else to check for.

Hope this help out....

MY FRIDGE THE FRIZER WORK GREAT,BUT THE FRIDGE BOTTOM NOT

The fridge gets its cold air from the freezer through a vent(damper) between the freezer and fridge. The fan in the freezer blows air through it. Make sure this fan is running. You may have to hold the door switch in for it to run. There is a flap you adjust with the fridge temp. control. Make sure it's opening and closing when you adjust the fridge temp.
The problem could be the electronic control if you have one or the mechanical linkages.

II have a model 5707591 side by side in my garage.as long as the ambient temp is 35-40 F everything works great.when it gets below that the freezer cant keep frozen.temps will rise to 25 F while the fridge...

the thermostat isn't cycling because it's to cold in the garrage, the machine isn't calling for cold air because the garrage is so cold so the fridge isn't gonna run until the temperature starts to get warm and then the fridge will start again to keep it cold.put some heat in the garrage and it will run fine

Freezer at 10 deg, fridge at 50

haier refrigerators have been known to have the cold control go bad. it only sense's the temp in the fresh food section so that would be why the freezer is still ok. The problem is the control is cutting out to fast and not letting the temp go lower. from what you said i would take that there is good air flow between the freezer and the fresh food compartment. so the only thing it could be is the cold control. I would replace it and you should be all set.
