Cuisinart DGB-600BC - water inside the carafe shell

I can hear coffee/water sloshing around in the carafe between the inside liner and outside liner. How do I open it up and clean and drain it. I took the handle off and can turn the plastic top but it doesn't unscrew.

I had this problem, but was able to take it apart using the instructions in an Amazon review. Plus, taking the handle off and popping the top off completely allowed me to wash it inside. I didn't want to heat it up.

First off, do not submerge the carafe in cold water when it is hot. The water will rush past the seals. This solution involves heating the carafe. Be careful to avoid steam burns
1. Place the carafe on a stove top. 2. Slowly heat the carafe. (make sure you are wearing oven mitts -- avoid steam burns) 3. As the carafe heats the water inside steam will escape the area where the seal allowed the water to get in there in the first place. Steam should appear very quickly, If it does not stop the process right away! Pressure can build up and cause the Carafe to explode! 4. Check the carafe from time to time taking care to avoid steam burns. 5. Once the water has been steamed away, remove the carafe from the stove and allow it to cool slowly. DO NOT place the carafe in water or on a very cold surface until it has cooled. The rapid cooling of the left over steam will cause the carafe to collapse on itself if it is placed in cold water while it is still hot from this procedure.

I have a cuisinart dgb 650 series coffeemaker and the carafe top is partially clogged resulting in coffee spilling over the top of the canister. How can I disassemble the lid of the carafe to clean it?

Unfortunately the lid is one unit. What you can do is try decalcifying the lid by soaking it in a water/white vinegar solution. If that does not work you might have to purchase a new lid.

Wattage of a Cuininart DGB-600

The consensus seems to be that it is 1025 Watts, although I have a hard time believing it - not even a stand mixer is 1025 watts.

Coffee doesn't brew full pot

Run 2 cups distilled white vinegar and 2 cups water through the system - brew it like it was regular coffee. Then run plain water through the coffemaker to rinse the vinegar out and make sure the decalcification was successful. Repeat as needed. Don't forget to remove the charcoal water filters first.

DGB-600BC

I have had the Cuisinart DGB-600BC for a bit over a year. The coffee grinds, and then sometime during the brewing cycle, it will go, "beep beep, beep beep, beep beep..." on and on.

I think I have traced the problem to the latch on the top lid that you open to access the bean hopper. I believe the latch sticks and doesn't close the lid tightly enough. It will appear to be closed, but the latch isn't all the way in place.

So, there is a small screw on the inside of the latch in the lid. Carefully unscrew this, remove the screw, latch, and the small spring. Remember which way the latch faces.

With a warm damp paper towel, clean the latch and the slot in the lid that the latch goes into. Reassemble, and make sure the screw is not so tight that the latch doesn't move freely.

This should solve your problem.
