This may sound weird but check your exhausts more so your cat. If it has clogged up it will make the truck do some weired things.

Find your firewall electrical junction block (where all the wires enter the cabin on the passenger side) and with a zip tie pull up the wire bundle so it does not ride on the upper tie rods and, fasten the zip tie to anything that is solid in the engine compartment and, let me know what happens

96 dodge ram sputters and dies whem you give it gas

you need to check fuel pressure with a pressure gauge to see if its within specs.it should be around 35psi and no lower then about 32psi.your problem sounds like a fuel pressure problem and the pump should be changed as well as the filter, but check to make sure the fuel filter is not plugged as this can also cause a pressure problem.

96 Ram 1500, 5.9 litre. code PO138 sensor circuit

it will be the o2 sensor after the cat.. check the connections. the first bank should be the right side of the engine while sitting in the car. look at that side of the exhaust.

Check the crankshaft position sensor. If the plug is loose or the sensor itself is bad it will cause similar problems
