Apple Ipod Touch 8gb backlight not working

Everything works but it's hard to see because there is no light. When I go to settings and try to increase the brightness it doesn't work. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Bill

Ipod touch 8GB backlight failure, any way to fix for free??

Step 1: First, make sure your backlight does not work. Go to Settings, tap Brightness, and drag the slider all the way to the right. If this does not work, then your iPod's backlight has failed.
Step 2: You can either do one of three things:
  1. If your iPod is less than a year old, go to the Apple Store and they will most likely replace it for free as a part of their warranty.
  2. Go to the Apple Store and have them fix it for a fee.
  3. Go to the Apple Store with your iPod and tell them you will give it to them when you buy a new one - they will give you a 10% discount.

My 8GB ipod touch is disabled

You need to put in DFU MODE, and restore your ipod touch.
Easy:
Press The Home Button + power button for 10 seconds. after 10 seconds, press only the Homme button.
And now, connect your ipod touch on itunes and press RESTORE.

Backlight doesnt light

you probably need to replace the LCD screen. But there is one method that worked for me. I blew into the bottom hard and put it in sleep mode for about 5 minutes. When I turned it on again i went to settings and put the brightness all the way up and it worked
