The SM Bus driver can be a problem. You need to install the Chipset driver from the motherboard makers website.

SOURCE: device manager shows error in sm bus controler

goto to system devices look for the question mark, right click, and try reinstall the drivers again, this should normally work and reboot your machine and the drivers should be there.

may be the bus driver you are trying to install may not be compatable for your machine, check with the user manual to see what bus derivers you can install

SOURCE: I have hp compact presario v6000.

You have to install the drives again
download from here
Or use your motherboard cd
If an error occurs during the installation make sure to remove the device from the device manager
Reboot
Re-Install the driver
Remember- Don't remove drivers which are related to The Power Options

Hi. I would like to install again windows XP Professional, but I have this PC 7 years AND i DIDN'T GET XP PROFESSIONAL WITH MY PC, WHICH CAME FROM PC WORLD. Could you help me if I can use Microsoft...

Yes Ana, you can install Windows XP professional. SP2 will be fine too. However, it may run into issues finding the specific device-drivers your PC uses. Do you have any CDs with your device drivers, i.e. audio/video cards, printer, network cards, etc.?
You would need those before you start installing the new system.

Wen i installed sp2 for xp , my system turned to be in grey color & font size wer so big, i can't even change the resolution settings... previously i had sp1 installed wer i had no problem i dont...

You have to check your motherboard or video card model, then search for the driver from their official website for windows xp home edition compatible. You can update sp3 before or after installing the driver of your video card! That is the reason why you ca not change the settings on your resolution because the windows xp home edition sp2 are probably no available driver for your video card. Have a nice day!
