Open the battery comparment on the handset. Under the
battery there should be a small sticker with the model
number. Take this number to www.manualslib.com and
you'll be able to download the original users' manual....
which will then answer many questions.
Good luck!
this is pertinent to uniden dect 1653 series and may work on yours as most uniden systems use the same format
1--call your phone number and wait until the system answers( if it is turned off , it answers after 15 rings and sounds a series of beeps
2--- during the greeting or beeps , press the # and immediately enter your security code . If you enter it incorrectly 3 times , the system hangs up and returns to standby
3--- the system announces the time and the number of messages in the memory and a help prompt. It beeps to let you know it's waiting for a command
4--when you hear the beeping , enter , enter a 2 digit code command from from the chart for example to play a message press# then 2
if you don't press any keys for 15 seconds the system hangs up and returns to standby
the chart codes are
#1---repeat message
#2-- play message
#3--skip message
#4 --delete message
#5--stop play back
#6 turn system on
#9---turn system off
#0 hear help prompts
to get your security code -- programming a security code
the default security code is 80
1-- with the phone in standby, open the menu from any handset
2-- select ans setup, the select security code
3-- use the number keypad to enter a 2 digit security code ( any numbers in the 00-99 bracket) Press menu/ select when you are finished
remember to note your security code
if this doesn't work on your set up go google and type in user manual for (make and model ) cordless phones-- and print out any pdf version down loads
This is because the extra handset might have not been registered with the base unit. The headset should be register to use the headset with that base unit.
To register the handset to base unit please follow the instruction:-
On registration the handset is allocated a handset number for use on the new base unit, the handset numbers are 1-5.
1. Press and hold on the base unit until starts flashing. Registration mode will remain active for approximately 3 minutes. 2.Press and hold both together until you hear a long beep.
3.Select the base unit you wish to register by pressing the corresponding number button 1-4. 4. When PIN is displayed, enter the units PIN number (0000 for this model). 5. If the registration is successful the handset will return to standby mode in a few seconds. Thanx
I have replace my doro batteries with Duracell rechargeables, just make sure you fully charge them before you put them in the handset. If you find after a time that the charge goes again, charge them again (in the charger you buy when you buy the batteries)! Hope this helps. PS, do you know how to turn the answering machine on?
