SOURCE: which transfer program for dictaphone m5220 works

You can use either Walkabout Transfer or Walkabout Write found here:

https://isupport.nuance.com/OA_HTML/csksxvm.jsp?nSetNumber=13097

Also, if you connect the portable via USB to your PC, it'll connect just like a USB memory stick and you can use Windows Explorer to transfer your dictation from the 'DSS' folder.

I just upgraded from the recorder free app to recorder pro and need to transfer recordings from recorder free to my computer. The only problem is that recorder pro doesn't recognize their presence and thus...

Hey, I had a similar problem with you. I only wanted to transfer my file to the computer so I link my Iphone with the PC and if you click your Iphone on Itunes and go to apps you can see recorder there. You can transfer your files directly to your PC and you can open the files using Itunes or Quicktime.

As soon as I turn on my Dictaphone m5220 I get the following: Memory access error 2003, 1001 My only option is to select OK After selecting OK, it reads Please save data to PC When trying to...

As per one of my other posts:

Press the 'OK' button, then it'll prompt you to 'Save All Data To PC'. If you have dictation on the portable that you want to save, connect it to the PC and hit 'OK'. It'll go into 'PC Operation Mode' and you can transfer your dictation like you normally would. Then when you disconnect and reboot the portable, you should get the error again.

To clear the error, press 'OK' again, but on the 'Save All Data To PC' screen, instead of pressing 'OK', press 'Esc' (I think that's the other option - this is from memory!) and it'll prompt you to delete the data. Press 'OK' and it'll format the memory and reboot - then you should be good to go.

The 2003,1001 error is caused by shutting off or cutting power to the portable while it's still in the Record mode. The portable is writing to the memory, and if you cut the power, it doesn't have a chance to finish saving the dictation - resulting in a corrupted file.

Dictaphone use for Medical Transcription

You'll need a digital recorder (Dictaphone makes one - a Walkabout Model 5220). Transferring a recording from an analog (tape) machine to a PC requires a patch cord to hook it up to your PC, then some sort of software to record it while it's playing back.

Transfering a stored PC recording

The recordings simply reside on your pc, but not in the "Digital Wave Player" software. The software is merely there to let you play the recordings, probably because they are not in a native Windows format.

If the recordings are "Wave, .wav" files as suggested by the software, then simply locate the files you want to put on disc... I am guessing you want to burn on cd.

Then, use a burning program such as Nero to add these files and burn to disc.

If you don't have Nero, then you would need to figure out what type of burning software your machine has installed and go from there.

I can't transfer my files from recorder to pc

This problem can typically be solved by unplugging the device from your computer's USB port and plugging it in to another USB port on the same computer.

Also be sure you have Olympus Digital Wave Player installed and open with your Transfer Options set to Auto Transfer. To do this, follow the steps below:

Open Digital Wave Player > select Transfer from the menu > select Transfer Options > under Auto Transfer, check the box which reads "Transfer all audio files after detecting Recorder."
