Resetting stopwatch dials - Armani AR5331

I just bought an Armani AR5331 watch with chronograph. It has 3 dials within the face, one of which is the second hand. The other two are the minute and hour dials for the stopwatch function. The second hand on the actual face is for the stopwatch. When you reset the stopwatch the second hand resets to zero but the minute and hour dials don't and there is no useful information in the manual! Does anyone know how to manually reset them to zero or do you think there is a fault with the watch? Thanks. I have an Armani AR5331 and when I reset the stopwatch, it goes to the #2 instead of the 12. I have no manual. It is second hand and was a gift. Any ideas?

When you reset the big seconds hand to zero, the hour and the minute hand are not engaged in this function, so, there is no fault with the watch movement.
Do as follows:
1) pull out crown and set the hour and minute hands at 6 o'clock (they must be lined perfectly in opposite directions)
2) push the crown in half way back (not completely)
3) push and hold the button at 2 o'clock (set the big seconds hand to zero) and release it when done
4) when big seconds hand is zeroed push the crown back in
5) pull the crown out again and set desired time
6) push the crown back in.
If all actions described do not work, you will have to visit your nearest watch repair shop and ask to refit chronograph hand as in this case it is out of balance (not pointed at exact mark).

Very usefle. works for my tissot PRC200

Modified works on Timex T49824. Thanks! If you pull the crown halfway out (6 o'clock not needed), you can set zero with 4 o'clock button for chronograph minutes. If you pull it all the way out, you can set zero for cronograph seconds with 2 o'clock button and zero for 1/20 of second with 4 o'clock button.

The 24 hour face on the right of the watch is the time, not the stop watch. The minute timer on the left of the watch face is the minutes for the stopwatch, if this is not resetting to 0 after holding down the lower button on the right hand side of the watch, contact your manufacturer.

The seconds hand on my invicta subaqua reserve does not move. It only moves when I start the chronograph. I've read the instructions time after time and can not get it to work.

The hand that moves when the chronograph is working is not a second hand. It will rest at the 12 o'clock position unless you are using the stopwatch. If your Invicta has a second hand, it is one of those small dials on the watch face.

What are the three little faces for? do not have instructions

Your watch is a chronograph or a watch that includes a stopwatch. Two of the three dials are for recording minutes and hours with the large sweep second hand recording seconds. Pushing the upper button starts and stops the stopwatch function. Pressing the lower resets everything to zero. The small bottome dial is the seconds hand for the watch, it always is moving.

Invicta model 3209 watch

Your watch is fitted with chronograph movement 5040D made by Ronda (Switzerland). If you take a closer look, then you will realise that the subdial at 3 o'clock is counting seconds allready. This is your seconds dial, not the big one.
The big seconds hand actually is the chronograph hand (stopwatch) and, when activated, works together with 1/10th counter.
Follow this link and see for yourself:

Find movement 5040D and click on INTERACTIVE version.

Using the stop watch feature

Dennis,
"Chronograph" is watch terminology for 'stop-watch'.
There are 3 small dials on the watch.  The main dial has a minute hand and an hour hand.  The big second hand on the main dial is not for the main time of the watch.  It is for measuring seconds for the stopwatch.
The 2 small dials at 10 o'clock and 2 o'clock will give you minutes and 1/10 of a seconds.
There are 2 buttons on the side of the watch. Top Button:  Start/Stop Bottom Button: Reset
To set the chronograph to its default position, you would pull out the stem to the first position and push the buttons.  Also, pull the stem out further to the 2nd position and push the buttons.

Fossil ch 2470 watch. I have no idea what the extra little dials are for on the face and how to set them. Please help

The dials are part of a Chronograph (stop watch) I assume there is a second, minute, and maybe a date function. Usually the large second hand is part of the stop watch on only moves when you start the stopwatch (top right button) push again to stop and reset back too zero is the bottom button. Usually to set or zero out those dials pull out the crown to the first click (also sets date) then push the top button to set the seconds (big hand) and the bottom button to set the other. sometimes you may need to pull the crown out to the second click (also sets hour and minutes) to set add'l dials. This is generally how you set most chronograph watches the button you push and what moves may be different.

Re-set quartz chronograph sweeping second hand

Easy Soultion worked for me. Believe Me I was worried only had the Seiko Sportura for a week now. My second dial for the stopwatch was re-setting to 5 seconds instead of zero. The Solution is
1. pull the Crown all the way out ( In the position you take the crown to set the time , second click ).
2. To set the minute face of stop watch , keep pressing the top button untill it is zero. To set the second needle to zero keep pressing the bottom button untill it reaches zero or where you like it to re-set each time. Depend on you.
3. Once all neddles of stopwatch are at resting postions ( usually zero) secure the crown back to its normal postion. Test your stop watch , hopefully it will go back to zero when you press the reset button. C
