Question about Avanti W789SA Top Load Washer
Mine is Avanti W798 and I bought it about two months ago. For the first two weeks, it works well, but after that it has spinning problem. When I go with Automatic Program, it washes and rinses, but keeps agitating without spinning. I checked the belt at the bottom of the machine, and it looked fine to me. (After all, it is a two months old brand-new machine, for god's sake!!!)
Yet, when I turn off the machine and re-turn it on about 30 minutes later (when the machine is totally cooled down) and choose the spinning course only, it starts agitating and then spins!!!
So, what do you think the problem is? Do I load too much clothes? Balance problem (I use it as a portable, so I did not set the balance minutely)? Or, other mechanical problem like motor overload?
Please advise me.
One of the largest problems with this washer has been the lid switch, you must check it out with a ohm meter, if the switch quits you will lose power to the motor. Things can get caught between the tanks as well, this machine is bad for the center bearing tightening up and the spin will quit. This is a new close up pictureof a typical lid switch. You can temporarily join the wires together to test the motor and washer operations.
