We have a 13'' TV in our van. The TV is cable ready. When the DTV change takes place, we will not be able to get anything? Can we use a converter box in the van to get local channels? Thank You!

Yes you can connect a DTV converter box in your van.
If the TV is DC powered you will need to buy a DC to AC inverter, like these http://www.dcacpowerinverters.com/12_volt_power_inverters.html because there are currently no dc dtv converters available.
If the tv is ac powered you will only need to connect the converter to the inverter the tv is connected to.
If you need more help or installation instructions let me know.

2005 Conversion Van has TV What do I need to do to receive Signal

If the audiovox does not have digital capability you will need a converter. The converter "converts" the digital signal back to the old signal so that your tv will recognize and play it. Thanks for using fixya.

Durabrand DU1901 digital ready?

The digital Cable conversion only effects those who still get their TV channels through an antenna or rabbit ears. If you get it through a cable provided like Comcast, you SHOULD be fine. For more information, look at the FCC website.

Digital ready?

That model is not DTV capable, however if you switch to Direct TV or Dish Network, then the receiver takes care of the conversion for you. Else, you will need the converter box.
