The driver you need is based on your raid controller on your motherboard or if you have one your raid card, so you need to determine the motherboard manufacturer or raid card manufacturer and get the chipset drivers from their website.

To install Windows 7 no need for RAID driver. If you face issues in installing Windows 7 disable RAID in BIOS, install Windows 7 and then install RAID driver.

u will need a os setup disc which contains sata/raid support. u can make this setup disk. find out which sata/raid text mode drivers needed (i can't tell u which txt mode driver is needed as i don't know the model no. of the laptop)
find textmode driver needed for your model no. using google.
copy os setup disc(windows) on to the hard drive. use nlite to integrate textmode sata/raid driver. burn a bootable disc.
Recovery disc wont work as u have already formatted the drive.

Copy RAID driver to mini diskette.
Boot server using Windows Server 2003 CD
The moment you see the blue setup screen press F6
After the setup runs for a little while it will ask you if you have any additional drivers you need to install
Then insert your mini diskette with the RAID driver and respond to prompts to load it.
Windows should no recognize the RAID controller and let you complete the installation.

Usually, you have to install the raid drivers during Vista installation , not after. have the device that has the raid drivers on it plugged in when you install Vista, then when you're asked the LOAD DRIVERS option, click load drivers. This will install the raid drivers prior to Vista OS installation.

That depends on how you want to set up your system. If you want multiple hard-drives to work together as one, yes, you will need to load RAID drivers during startup. If you do not want multiple hard-drives to act as one large hard-drive then no, you will not need to load RAID drivers during startup.

I would not recommend loading RAID drivers if you only have one hard-drive. RAID is for two or more hard-drives in the same computer.

The RAID driver was supposed to be created by the Gigabyte CD on to a floppy disk. Durring windows you were to incert the floppy disk & press F6. Windows would have included the driver software. You can also go to Gigabytes web site & download the RAID driver. (This site is for rev 2.0).

Not a lot of details, but here is some basic information, assuming you have a Dell with Integrated RAID

Dimension 9150/9200 and XPS systems have RAID, depending on the model the exact troubleshooting differs. At boot, after the Dell screen, you should get the RAID status listing. RAID 0 will either be normal or failed. Raid 1 can be normal, degraded for failed.

If the RAID array was RAID 0 and one of the drives failed, then all data is lost and you'll have to create a new array then reinstall Windows and drivers

If the RAID array was RAID 1, then you may need to add the new drive to the Array, CNTL+I or CNTL+N at boot (Depending on the system model) add the new drive to the array and reboot. If the system still will not boot to Windows, then you may have a software error too with the OS.

If during troubleshooting, the array was broken in the RAID BIOS, then the array will need to be recreated and Windows/Drivers reinstalled.
