My problem started with the system not shutting off either with the remote, ot from the front control panel. Only way to turn system off was to unplug it. Now, system does the same thing, only the inputs will not switch either. System seems totally locked up. Any ideas?

The body control system consists of the following 3 modules:
• The Dash Integration Module (DIM)
• The Instrument Panel Module (IPM)
• The Rear Integration Module (RIM)
Each of the 3 body control modules integrate a number of functional systems under the control of a single module. Each module is connected to the Class 2 serial data circuit, many of the control functions are implemented by Class 2 messages.

Rear Integration Module (RIM)
The various RIM inputs and outputs are described in the corresponding functional areas as indicated on the RIM electrical schematics.

Dash Integration Module (DIM)

• Class 2 communication requiring DIM interaction.
• Control of exterior lamps.
• Control of front fog lights.
• Control of the headlights.
• Headlamps on with wiper input.
• Hood ajar switch input w/export.
• Horn relay control.
• Interior lamps incandescent dimming.
• Low side temperature for HVAC compressor.
• Power moding control over Class 2 serial data circuit.
• Reverse lockout solenoid control.
• Steering wheel controls input.
• Storage of the clock settings and, sending a message out on the class 2 serial data circuit in response to requests from other modules.
Point the remote at your cell phone camera and press a button on the remote. You should see a purple pink light appear in the image of the camera. If you don't, the remote is bad.
All TVs have an input button on the front control panel usually located on the side of the TV. You can switch through your inputs that way besides using the remote.
Press the system key on the remote, find the digital input option, choose optical, finish!
OPTION2: (Using LX700 button) "program" button on the front panel for 5 seconds,then press LEFT or RIGHT button to choose DIGITAL INPUT,and Press "program" button again,then change coaxial to optical by rotating VOLUMN control on the front panel. then just confirm by pressing the "program" button again and wait for 5 sec to quit menu. Now switch OFF and switch ON receiver again.
Now make sure the source id DISC IN (ie., digital input ). Your LX700 should be picking up optical signal!!

It sounds that the front panel controls are locked with your tV. You have to unlock it first, if you want to change its input selections. If you cannot select the inputs by using the remote control [I thing you are using a universal remote control], setup the remote control with an other setup code. All codes to remote control won't work with some functions. You have to search and select, which code give maximum functionality with your TV.
The short answer is you can't. Most sets now require the remote control, which has a "source" or "input" button that you need to press. To make matters worse, a universal remote often (usually, in fact) won't have the right codes to switch inputs. There are vendors selling original replacement remotes, but they can be pretty costly.
The longer answer is that on a few TVs you might find a source selection through the on-screen menus. If your set has front panel menu control. Some do, but often the functions are very limited. On a few models of RCA sets you could switch to AV inputs using special channel numbers (00, 98 or 99) but these were older models made when cable systems had fewer channels.
Without knowing your brand and model I can't tell you more. But it's almost certain you'll need a remote. Hopefully you can find a universal remote that will work for you.
If you have lost the remote, go to any electronics store and buy a universal one. I have programmed many generic remote controls, and they all work fine for adjusting the video inputs. Not all television sets allow their video inputs to be switched without the remote. Most likely you will have to buy a replacement.
I hooked up a Pioneer DVD player to my TV and when I play a DVD the volume cannot be controlled by the TV. It just plays at one level and on the louder side. When I'm watching regular TV and the DVD player is on and playing a disc I start to hear the DVD soundtrack at the same time as the whatever I'm watching on TV. I should not be able to hear anything until I switch over to Video 1. Any suggestions?
The Micro switches are leaky. They are soldered on the control panel in the front. Either replace the panel or the switchs. You can test this by unsoldering all the switchs and leaving the IR Sensor. You can control the set by using the remote remote . If this help let me know.
1 either it is due to remote control or some contact have some problem.
2 it might be due to front panel switches.
3 it might be due to loose contact or some problem in system control ic .
