the cleaning product that you have you need to use once cap full per gallon of water. so if it's 5 gallons you need to use 5 cap fulls. so forth and so forth. that is the easiest way to tell you. and then you let the unit run with the solutions and the water for the hole time until the water runs out. and your unit will be cleaned

all you need is a capful of vinegar mixed into the water and it will clean it like new again

It started working again on its own. Not much of a solution!

I think some water must have got into the electronics and then once it dried, the humidifier started to work again.

I've had this problem before and with mine, the issue is the water is not making its way into the correct reservoir on the bottom of the machine. With experimentation, I discovered that my tilting the machine slightly upwards on the righthand side corrects the problem (i.e. put something aprox. 3-5mm thick underneath the right side of the machine). You will hear that the water "move" to the left side of the machine and thus ensuring proper operations. I think this is a design flaw (for some machines) as clearly I have the same problem too.
