You mute/unmute with the volume controller on the right upper side of the tablet. If it's muted, run the volume all the way down to zero, at which point the slash mark through the volume icon will disappear. Then you can set your volume level.
it sounds like you have your mic. too close to your mouth try moving it out away from your head some. I have had similar issues and when I move the mic away from my head the echo goes away.
go to the sound option down to the right side and click on to sound icon and unmute it or go the control pannel and then go the soung settings and unmute it ....
I'm using the same laptop right now and have been for 3 years and I didn't know there was a key combo. Can you go into Start, Control Panel, Sounds and Audio Devices? If you can then you can unmute there.
Receiving Calls 1. To answer a call, touch or open the slide. If the slide is closed, simply slide it up. If the slide is closed, press the Voice Commands key twice, then touch . If the slide is open and the touch buttons are lit, touch . NOTE If you touch Left Soft Key [Quiet] while the phone is ringing, the ringing or vibration is muted for that call. Mute Function The Mute Function prevents the transmission of your voice to the caller. To quickly activate Mute touch Left Soft Key [Mute], then to unmute touch Left Soft Key [Unmute].
NOTE! while doing this you must call someone then while talking with him touch Left Soft Key [Unmute] to Unmute

Depress the volume bottom or rotate the volume knob. When on a Bluetooth phone call, the speaker symbol will mute, but unmute when the call ends. Either rolling the right steering wheel scroll or the volume button on the shifter area will should unmute the radio volume.
Try looking for the the speaker in the lower-right corner. Single-left-click on it, and unselect "Mute". It might either be a speaker with a no-sign or the word "mute" with a checkmark next to it.
