Hi
I've just moved into a new house and there's a Bosch sms 5072 dishwasher in my kitchen. I've never used one before (or any dishwasher for that matter) and i've been searching for some instructions online but have failed miserably. Can you help at all? (I know this sounds pretty basic, but i really have no clue and I'm worried that i'm going to break it first try.....)
SOURCE: Some advice please. I've been given a Bosch SMS
Hello, Welcome to fixya, Yes indeed it does need to be above the water level in the unit. Bosch recommends "looping" the drain behind the dishwasher or as an alternative as close to the machine as possible and not to exceed '12ft of drain line. Keep in mind the entry point of the hose into the home plumbing must also be above the water level in the machine. I can send you a "pdf" of the Bosch installation guide if you provide an email address and if you're interested. **Also recommended** - If using a "johnston T" or a siphon break, switch the drain pump to a 4 vane instead of the original 6 or 9 vane. Regards, Macmarkus :)
